My old Blogger
screens are gone.
I am left in
unfamiliar territory.
It asked me if I wanted
to look at the
new format.
I said YES.
I didn't know that once
I did that
there was no turning back.
Everything looks strange
here now.
Even worse...
I can't post a comment on
many of your blogs.
If some of you think I
dropped you like a
bad habit,
you are
WRONG!
Dead Wrong!
I just get a white
screen when I click on
Comment.
I can't scroll down,
I can't click the return button.
I can't do anythimg
except
CLOSE OUT
of the Blog.
I hit the
X
and POOF you
are gone.
I apologize.
I apologize for Blogger
who has seen fit to
make changes
once again.
It just freezes my butt
when things like this happen.
I want to throw my
computer out in the snow.
But I won't
because I have faith
that Blogger will fix this mess.
Let's hope it's soon.
And, while I am whining
and complaining,
I hate all the word verification
that is needed to make a
comment on some blogs.
And what's up with the
blogs where you have to
sign in with your name,
your email address
and your blogsite?
And, why isn't registering once
with that blog good enough?
I have to do it every time?
Sometimes, folks,
I just don't have the
extra time.
There.
I've said it.
You can hate me.
And here y'all thought
I was
so nice.
Maybe I'll be nice tomorrow....
Maybe.....
How about you?
Any problems on your end?
Can anyone tell me how to get
back to my old "home"?
edited @ noon:
Thanks to several emails
and helpers I have my
old screens back.
I also updated to
Chrome Google
(thanks for the How-to, Tete).
Everything is faster
but there are still several
blogs that I can't comment on.
Any ideas on THAT mess?
From time to time I've had problems leaving comments on a few blogs. Some clear up quickly and some take a very long time. It is frustrating when you try to get some help. I agree that those word verifications are a hassle. Some blogs have the W.V. plus the blog owner has to "approve" each of your comments.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
all of tyhe above, and I can't see to type right now so pardon any erroes, as you know blogger ate my previous blog and spit out the bones, now i still have all the same truobles you are having, I get very upset with it all then I realize i'm not alone, please stay with us, it will correct itself.
ReplyDeleteI said yes to the new format bit it let me change back,
Thank goodness it isn't just me. I find I am following a blog and then it disappears from my reading list, and suddenly I am not following it any more! I'd hate those people to think I have simply given up and moved on.
ReplyDeleteDiana, another blogger mentioned the same problems last night. Why can't blogger just leave things alone!
ReplyDeleteI use Typepad, so I can't chime in with help. But I can definitely feel your frustration. Hope it all clears up for you soon! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI almost clicked that option last night!
ReplyDeleteThe last time that I clicked a blogger option, I had to change the entire format of I have entertained the idea of switching to Wordpress many times. But that's the one where you have to sign in with name , email and blogsite. (I actually started with Wordpress, but decided to switch to blogger because it seemed to be a bit more friendly.)
I can still see and hear you!
I hope you are able to work it out!

Whoops, let me finish my sentence! "The last time that I clicked a blogger option, I had to change the entire format of my blog."
ReplyDelete[w/L]
So far I haven't had any problems with blogger. Knock on wood. Maybe I am just flying under the radar. Wish you luck on getting the bugs out.
ReplyDeleteDiana, I don't want to add to your frustration but possibly part of the problem is if you are using Internet Explorer for your browser. Google now owns Blogger, Youtube, Gmail, etc, etc and they REALLY want you to use THEIR browser Chrome to surf their products. As much as we all might hate to, looking at Blogger blogs and Google products might be easier with Chrome. They just don't want you to use the "competition". It doesn't seem fair, but it could help solve some of the problems with seeing other blogs and commenting. Chrome is really easy to download which is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the constant changing of the layout...sigh...don't have an answer for that. We are switching to Wordpress soon, with Google Connect Followers going away eventually for everyone, there is almost no reason for us to stay on Blogger anymore. It's sad that they're driving away a lot of Bloggers with all of the nonsense. Hope you can get all of the kinks worked out. Hugs!
Heather
I can't help you but wanted you to know that I am thinking of you! I know, a lot of help that is!
ReplyDeleteI have been using Google Chrome for my browser and have had less trouble so what Heather is saying may be correct. It is pretty easy to switch over.
Hi Di,
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it make you wanna spit! lol
xoxo
Oh poor dear this is so frustrating!!! I "refreshed" my phone and lost everything! Who would have that that little word could have caused me such frustration..... Hang in there girl. I know it will get better!
ReplyDeleteSaw you over at Cindy's and thought I'd stop by and say hello. It has taken me four tries to comment and finally got through on google chrome (I switch between that and IE), so yes, I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteOkay, don't get mad at me, but I literally laughed out loud when I read the rest of your blog peeves because they are mine too. hahahaha I detest word verification (come on, folks, totally not needed unless you work for the CIA) and I hate filling out my name, email, and URL for some as if I was at customs in an airport. ;) Don't have any clue how I do it at times but I can tell you I'm not doing it as much these days. Remember, simplicity is my middle name.
As far as Blogger, they defeat my goals for inspiring calm. I'm actually setting up my blog at Wordpress right now, even got rid of my google friend connect. True bloggy friends keep up so no sweat off my back.
K, Diana, this was better than an energy drink. hahahaha I love visiting you.
Muah!
I am so sorry you are having such problems! Sometimes I think I need my own personal technology assistant! I HATE to click on "switch to the new," and wind up with problems I cannot correct!:-( I hope you are able to get it all solved. Have a happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteNo trouble on my end...I have seen a LOT of blogs, tho, that are NOT HAPPY right now.
ReplyDeleteI never ever hit the NEW button if I can help it.
Hope the troubles are fixed soon....

Hi Diana,
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, what a mess! and I totally agree with you (I was JUST talking to Ralph about it a few minutes ago) that when you go on Wordpress blogs you have to practically give them your blood type to leave a comment...Who has time for THAT??
I have had it happen that I could not leave a message on some blogs...SO, Ralph told me to go on through a different browser....what a pain! But, it works!!! I went on through Safari, but then switched to firefox to go on and I can leave a comment...
I sure hope you're having a good weekend--and gee, I can relate to this post!!! Love, Cindy
P.S. I thought you'd get a kick out of this one...Whenever my heater goes on, it shuts off something to my connection and I get thrown off the internet and the cell phone too! It's happened when I'm in the middle of a post and have to start all over again....Oh the joys of technology, eh?
ReplyDeletePoor Diana, Maybe blogger finally took away the older version, I had switched a few weeks back when I was at my daughters, so she could help me figure it out, still not as easy as the older, but I am getting there..... I have also used "Chrome" for about a year, Easy & Quick ~ well, I hope you are able to hang in there & I hope you will be able to stop by, I'm having a Give~Away to celebrate having a working computer again....
ReplyDeleteStay Warm

I have not had too many problems, all though of late as I load pictures for my post, they don't load in the order I load them! What I hate is playlists, they make mt computer totally freeze up! Good luck! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you got everything back!!
ReplyDeleteI switched to google chrome and it is awesome, right? I love it!!
But, sometimes, it is a pain and your followers might disappear or you can't comment. Just not very often.
happy blogging!
xxDaniella
I just updated to google chrome...Sam of course did it for me being so computer disabled!!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to visit a blog where you have to sign in all that stuff? Seriously? Thats' crazy I won't be visiting those ones! I have no time no time at all. It's all at that dam grocery store ha!!!
Thanks for all your help Diana

This whole blogger thing is driving me nuts! I get the white screen with some blogs too. Is Google Chrome the only answer?
ReplyDeleteAre you talking about the UPDATED BLOGGER INTERFACE? You CAN go back....
ReplyDeleteGo to your BLOG.
Click on DESIGN on the top right corner.
See the COG (the round circle thing that looks like a wheel) Click on it and a drop down menu will appear.
Click on OLD BLOGGER INTERFACE.
Also, install google chrome if you haven't already - it works much better.
Hope this helps!
Do you like Google Chrome, Diana? I have resisted thus far. Whatever blogger did changed for how I input things, but I think I'm getting used to it. I notice that sometimes I have to sign in - don't know if we just have to do that ever so often or what. When blogger was having its' problems, someone suggested Firefox. Since that time it has helped me a lot. You are nice...just having blogger issues.
ReplyDeletehugs! =0)
Blogger is being totally weird. I'm having tons of trouble commenting on posts and it's making me NUTSO! BAH!
ReplyDeleteI'm not good with change and change is everywhere this week. I'm thinking something has gone totally wrong~
That said...I will follow you anywhere~
Love to you~
Rebecca
How frustrating. You've had a bad run. Hope my blog isn't one that makes you jump through hoops.
ReplyDeletexo
Diana, I have been using Chrome for a year now, and it seems to have less issues than other servers. So making the switch was the smart thing to do.
ReplyDeleteThey switched me too, Diana!! So, please, we need to talk!!
ReplyDeleteBut, on the other hand, like my Sweetie says, they're going to switch us all over eventually, so why not just do it? I've been struggling for a week now, and I'm getting use to it - again, let's email, OK?
I, too, so dislike having to sign in all the time, and the comment moderator, and the worst - word verification! I do tolerate on some, but on others, I just move on.
Thanks for complaining, Diana! You gave us all a little time to let out steam together!
Blessings,
Donna
