I have a collection.
Seriously?
Me? A collection?
Yeah...well, I swear I
DON'T have collections
and then I start looking around.
Okay..
I collected these
Heirloom ornaments
when my girls were little.
It was on the
pay-as-you-go
method.
Otherwise,
I would not have been able
to buy them.
There are 12 of them in all..
but I will show you just a couple
of them here.
Each one is about 2 or 3 inches high.
They fit perfectly on
this little tree that
sits in our upstairs hallway
on the way to the room the
little girls sleep in.
You know..
The one with the
PINK TREE!
bluebird on it somewhere.
This one is sweet, too.
Praying for world peace?
Swinging on a heart...
A magic star angel
A angel on a lucky horseshoe..
A heralding angel..
This one has to be
The Baker's Angel,
don't you think?
Another cute little swinger...
If you look closely
you will see some beautiful
icicle type ornaments
made by my wonderful, sweet friend,
Donna from
Shabby Chateau.
She is just a lovely person..
and if you don't know her
you need to pop by her blog.
She is fondly known as
The Glitter Queen
and has an Etsy Shop
with
A glut of glittery goodies
(say that fast 10 times-
go ahead-I'll wait...back?
Doncha love the way that
rolls off your tongue?;>)
Another one hidden in the tree.
One laid out flat.
They are just gorgeous!
They match the beautiful quilted piece
my daughter, Mimi, stitched for me.
Well, that about wraps that
little tree up.
What's that you say?
You want to see one more swinger?
Well, here you go...
but, guess what?
It's never gonna be
1969 again!
Oh-those swingers!
Wonder how many are living
normal lives now?;>)
They don't photograph nearly
as beautiful as they look in person. They are just gorgeous!

lol.. hmmmm, I wonder.
ReplyDeletecute idea, angels each with a bluebird.. and I love icicleson trees.
You mean that's not normal... then I better stop it. Aren't you glad over the years we gather memories what some call collections.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Wednesday,
Lisa
Such a beautiful collection! I bet your house is decked out so lovely for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYes, my moonbeans are in a jar:):) i love the sweet faces of your angels. Smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteThose hippie swingers are today's CEOs of major corporations around the world. They are now "The Man".
ReplyDeletem.
Haha, I didn't think I had a collection either, Diana, until one year I realized I had snowmen everywhere! That was when I stopped scattering them throughout the house and brought them together. Your angels are just beautiful! I believe they do look better in person; sometimes photos don't do any justice.
ReplyDeleteYour little angels are stunning. How lovely to each have a sweet little bird. Great collection. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThose little angels are sweet, just like all of your little grand angels, Diana. I can just imagine how lovely your whole house looks all dressed for the Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteYep...the dangles Donna made for you are perfect for your home...but not as perfect as mine...hehe.
Hey...is that gal playing the flute you, and the drummer your Hero???!!! They look a little familiar....

When I first read the title of your post, I didn't see the word "angel" in it, making me wonder what on earth you'd been up to!! what sweet little ornaments, I've never seen anything like them before. Glad that the icicles fir right in! I had alot of fun making them for you:)
ReplyDeleteThese are so darling, love them all...and you are such a cute swinger too! ;D

Those little angels are adorable, Diana, and the icicle is beautiful. Our bloggy friends are so special and I'm so thankful for them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laundry reminder, pal. ;)
Much love!
Ahhhhh. Yes, Ma'am, that qualifies as a collection, for sure. LOVE them all - thanks for mentioning the little bluebirds. I enjoying looking for them on each ornament. . .I hate to think of the "swingers" in the 1969 photo as old. Say it ain't so!!
ReplyDeleteI agree, that;s a collection! They are adorable! They remind me of you! Really, they do! Your story is priceless and I love the 1969 hippies, not that I'm old enough to remember that! Ha! Ha! The icicles are great!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to know you feel the same way I do on that blog post today. It was nice to go back and find out a lot of others don't like titles either. I think some people are still having a pity party and need to move on. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteLove those ornaments. They are so precious!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat adorable little angels! That's one sweet collection.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana,
ReplyDeleteOH I love your angels--and the beautiful ornaments that Donna made--they are sooo special!!! and the beautiful piece that your daughter made!
Such a gorgeous Christmas at your house, my friend!!!
XO
Cindy
Oh--and Donna's glittering is contagious!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat precious ornaments! I have a deep love of angel ornaments. Growing up I was the only one in our house that loved angels and every year my dad and I had a tradition of going out and finding a new angel for the tree. I loved them so much. I'm sure your grand kiddies love your angels just as much...they are precious and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI loved Mark's comment about the picture. He is so right! If that picture was Woodstock I was there...I think I'm pretty normal. Although, some might question that!
I imagine the Christmas spirit is in full swing at your house. I bet there is non-stop chatter about Santa! This is an extra special Christmas for your son & D-I-L...what a blessing.
Those are like so beautiful Diana! I love their little faces and the fact that they bring back such sweet memories.
ReplyDeleteOh and your daughter really made such a beautiful quilt there. It's getting colder over here after being so warm, well for us anyway. I like it warmer but I want snow too, hmmm, wish it could be 45 and snow. lol.
Hugs friend,
Cindy
I'd have to guess most of them. Real life, when it hits, hits hard. :)
ReplyDeleteYour ornaments are so pretty!
I think I see my parents in that last photo. Just kidding :) Love your pretty ornaments! I need to start a collection...
ReplyDeleteHi Diana. You have always been so good at creating beauty around you. I'm glad I have found another outlet to be able to see that creativity. You are an inspiration to me :) love you!
