A Little Prayer For Our Ria Please

This is my daughter along with her hubby
and the TRIO.
This was taken a couple of weeks ago
when they went to get their tree.
Lulu is on the far left,
SweetCheeks is front and center,
and our sweet
Little Ria is on the right.

There was a little accident on
the school playground today.
Ria fell and her front teeth
went through her chin
just below her lip and
she needed eight stitches to
close the gap.
Bad enough~ but she
also broke her two front teeth
on a diagonal.
They are her permanet teeth, too.
They thought at first she had
injured her jaw and might need
to have her jaw wired shut
but, after a full assessment,
it appears that her jaw is okay.

I know there are many big
tragedies going on around the world.
I realize that there are people that
need prayer for very serious
illnesses so I kind of
hate to ask....but...
if you have a moment please
send up a prayer for our
Little Ria.
She is just the sweetest,
most loving little girl you will
ever meet....and it is almost
Christmas and she will be in pain
for a few days.

The dentist has promised her
some caps when her mouth
has healed a bit.
I've been looking online and
I think I found the perfect
set.
Whaddaya think, Ria?
How do you like those?
I know some of you are thinking..
What kind of Nana would be posting
something like THIS concerning
something serious?
Well.....
Only THIS Nana would
be trying to get a laugh
out of her to cheer her up.
She's used to me and my
off-beat humor.
I am the best
"teaser" in the world.

I love you , Little Ria,
and I am so sorry this happened
to you~I'll see you in a couple
of days!

Thanks to all of you that take
the time to offer up a little prayer
for our little girl.

  1. So sorry to hear! I am sure Santa will be extra good to her this year! And I am sure she appreciated your humor!

  2. Oh no! I don't like for our babies to get hurt and be in pain. Sending up a prayer for sweet Ria right now.

  3. Oh how horrible for her, I hope she is soon feeling better. Our son left half of his front tooth (also his permanent tooth) embedded in some steps at school. The dentist did such a good job fixing it that even he has to think which one it was that got broken, so I am sure she will soon be looking perfect once again. However, the teeth you chose for her are pretty fab too!

  4. Oh I am so sorry to hear of her accident. I am sure it hurts so much and breaking her teeth, they must be so sore. Bless her heart. I will say a prayer for her to feel better soon. Hugs, Marty

  5. I'm so sorry this happened to little Ria. When I was 10 years old I fell and broke my permanent front teeth on an angle. I was so embarrassed at how they looked. I had them capped and that was that.
    She will be fine.

    Little prayers for her healing.

    hugs

  6. Diana you can be sure I will keep her in my prayers, poor sweet child! The exact same thing happened ot my nephew around the same age and thankfully everything ended up being fine (after a few days of being shaken up of coures and TONS of attention). Thankfully there are so many advances in dentistry she will be even better than new when its all fixed but I know that must have been scary for her and the entire family! She is lucky to have such love surrounding her (and a little humor never ever hurts)!! Sending you both a big hug:)

  7. Oh Diana, you are funny! Poor little Ria! When I was 13 I was hit by a car on my bike and wound up face down on the pavement. I lost some back teeth, and did have to have my jaw wired shut. No fun I tell you, so I am happy that not to be the case. Today's denistry is so amazing, they will fix her up in no time. My son Jack just said to me the other day, ya know Mom a lot of kids get hurt on the school playground. Last week two incidents of stitches here at our school. Not to mention,my older boy broke his arm in preschool when he was 3 on the school playground. These things happen and happen anymore. Merry Christmas. Maybe you should get her gummie bears for her stocking too. See Diana I am just as bad as you, and that is why I love you. Merry Christmas. Thinking and saying prayers. XO

  8. Oh, sweet Ria, I sure hope you are feeling a little better today. It will take some time to heal, and the dentist can make you beautiful caps so you can smile that cute little smile of yours again! Just don't take Nana with you or you could end up with bunny teeth! That's one nutty Nana you have there. Love ya, Ria.

  9. Praying for Ria and her mom and dad, because I know they are dealing with a child who is injured, and feeling bad.
She and Jd are going to be recuperating together, just at a pretty big distance.
    Love ya,

  11. Diana, I will gladly pray for Ria. Children are so pitiful at times. If she can laugh along with you, it'll make her stronger. She'll be good as new when the time comes:):) Susie

  13. Dear Ria,

I am sorry to hear that you were hurt on the playground. I am praying for you that for will feel better quickly and have a terrific Christmas with your family and friends. Our granddaughter, Keri, who is 8 had to go to the dentist recently to have some work done and she was really scared about going. After her visit she told me it wasn't so bad after all. She has to go back two more times and isn't afraid anymore. I know your dentist will do a great job fixing your teeth too. And I'm pretty sure your smile will be even cuter that the one your Nana found for you :)

    Blessing Dear Ria!
    Love Mrs. H

  14. Poor little thing ... and you and Mama, too. It's so stressful to have a child in the ER. (Our daughter works in the local ER, and she says that the kids are the easy part ... the parents are usually all stressed out and difficult to deal with ... anyway, I digress.)

Ria, you have the best Nana in the world, working so hard to make you feel better when you're hurt. The dentist will do the same thing ... he/she will make your teeth all better.

Merry Christmas, Sweetie. Hug your Nana for me.

  15. Poor little thing! Please tell her that this happened to my cousin when we were younger and she was "fixed" AS GOOD AS NEW back then...so I can only imagine what they can do today! What a beautiful little girl! I think Santa might have to bring her someting "extra" to make her feel better! :)
You are the sweetest Nana to make her laugh with the pacifier....wax teeth, too, would be cute! I think that's the most wonderful idea...after all, laughter is the best medicine. :)
Praying for a quick and PAINLESS recovery for this little angel.
    Merry Christmas~ Lisa

  19. Oh no, poor Rhia! I hope she's not in too much pain, poor thing. I'm like you Diana, I'd be looking for ways to cheer her up and get a laugh. I'm sure once it gets closer to Christmas she will be okay. She was probably worried about her teeth, too.

  22. Poor thing having to endure the pain, and then look forward to your idea of teeth. Well say a prayer for her to heal quickly, and also one for you, cause grandma's hurt right along with the g-kids. Have a good day.

  23. Poor Sweet Ria! I will be praying for her.

And my neice knocked out her four front teeth in a skating accident when she was about 10. She has caps now and they look nice. Caps also don't decay like real teeth, so maybe it'll be okay for Ria to have some extra candy! :-)

  24. OH NO! I am so sorry that happened to little Ria and will be praying for quick healing and comfort! Bless her heart having this happen right before Christmas. :-( I've been through similar times with my little ones and it makes you feel physical pain yourself watching them go through it. Glad she has a Nana to help keep her spirits up!

  29. That poor baby! I feel so bad for her. Just so you know, I broke my front tooth when I was just six years old. So, one of my "sparklers" is totally fake. But don't tell anyone. I like to give the image that I'm perfect. And I would really hate to let people down.

p.s. You're right up there with my kids' Nana.

  31. Awwww! I will most certainly pray for sweet little Ria! I'm sorry to hear that she is in so much pain. Too bad those were her permanent teeth. And I bet if you got a pair of those new front teeth yourself, she just might decide to go for it, too:) And no prayer request is too small or "unimportant enough" to ask for!! Give her a big hug for me!!

  32. Prayers for little Ria are not to be diminished by all the other things going on ~ she needs support and healing too. :-) I feel so bad for her. We'll keep the prayers going for rapid healing and beautiful teeth when the dentist works his magic.

  34. Oh..poor little thing. BUT - coming from a person with a mouth full of veneers...this isn't the horrible thing it used to be years ago. Now Ria will have teeth others dream of. I call it the Farrah Fawcett smile.

  35. I don't think you should ever feel guilty about asking for a prayer for anyone who is near and dear to you. I know how I feel about my grands and how much it hurts me if they are hurting. So, yes sweet lady, you ask away, & I will definitely say a prayer for Ria.

  43. I hope it all works out okay for little Ria. It will just take a little time to heal, but after that a good dentist will make her look just as good as new. I couldn't help but think of that old song, "All I Want for Xmas is my 2 Front Teeth." Take care, Diana, and enjoy a beautiful Christmas holiday! Sue

  47. Oh Little Ria,

You bet this Grandma will be saying lots of prayers for you! I have a little granddaughter just about your age and just as precious as you, so I know how your Nana's heart just aches for you! May the Lord of this season we are celebrating heal you from the top of your head down to your tippy toes, and especially your front teeth and jaw!

    Blessings, dear one,
    Grandma Donna

  48. Of course I will be praying. I know exactly what she is going through. When I was in second grade I was hanging on the monkey bars talking to my friends when another friend came up running from behind and bumped into me hard enough to cause me to hit the lower bar with my two front teeth. They broke and were my permanent teeth too. I was fitted with caps at first. but then the root of the tooth died on the rt so they had to pull it and give me a temporary retainer with a fake tooth on it that I had to wear for 9 yrs! I had to wait till I could get braces and then in 11th grade the Dentist fitted me with a bridge. I still have that same bridge as my two front teeth. It fell out 12 yrs ago and my Dentist just glued it back in. But I will eventually need a new bridge. Which I am scared to death to get. Going to the Dentist makes me very anxious. My hands sweat and I feel like I'm going to pass out. So even though my bridge has moved and is slightly crooked, I live with it because I'm not ready to get a new one. I hate change. I have prayed for years for God to just grow some new teeth for me...and push the bridge out! I believe He can do it...how about you? So my sympathy goes to your little Ria. Thankfully the technology today is so advanced that she will not suffer so many years as I have. Bless her heart. ox
