Is This Corny Enough For You? Sunday Recipe

Here in the Midwest
these good old boys
like their soups
AND
their chowders.

MyHero loves corn chowder.
I have tried many, many recipes
over the years.
The one that tastes the best
is the simplest one to make.

Crockpot Corn Chowder

Fry up 1/2# of bacon until it is crisp.

Drain on paper towels.
Clean pan and add back a couple
tablespoons of the bacon grease.
Add to pan and saute until tender:
1 large stalk diced celery
4 green onions snipped fine
(or 1/4 cup finely chopped onion)
(I actually microwaved mine for 2 minutes)
In Crockpot:
One large bag of frozen corn.
One can Cream style corn.
2-3 cups milk or half & half.
Add bacon, celery & onions.
Turn on high for about 3 hours.
Lower to low setting for another hour or so.

Enjoy!

And..while you are eating
YOUR CORN..
look out your window to see
if you can see
SOMEONE eating THEIR corn.
Here's the recipe:

Crockpot Corn Chowder

1/2# diced bacon-fried crisp/drained
1 large stalk celery-diced and sauted
3 or 4 green onions, snipped (OR)
1/4 cup finely diced onion
1 large bag frozen corn
1 can Cream of Corn
2 cups milk (or more to taste)
Put everything in crockpot on high
for at 3 to 4 hours
Lower to LOW setting
and cook 1 or 2 more hours.

salt & pepper to taste
PS-DON'T eat the candy corn until
your chowder is gone.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Your recipe sounds delicious and I would love to try it,
I'm always looking for crockpot (or as we call them in Ireland slow cooker) recipes.

I haven't heard of "cream style corn" cans before so might have to substitute something else, hmmmm....

Making me hungry as I type!

I hope that you are having a lovely Sunday and that your weather is good,
we have sunshine today and it is lovely to have a blue sky for a change.

Take care and I will visit again.
I'm off to read more now!
