As most of my early followers know
we have a fairy at our house.
He changes on a whim at the beginning
of each Season.
He is just magic that way.
He hangs right above the stairway
that leads up to the bedrooms.
Built into the pockets created by the steps
are 2 little "hidey holes"
that you can read about here.
Last week one day I noticed that SweetCheeks
was sitting on the steps and talking
(to herself I assumed because she has
many imaginary friends)
However, later that week when she came to visit
she peeked into her "hidey hole" and
she started to cry.
I wondered what was the matter.
"Nana-I telled that fahree that I doan whant
eny morah ribbons or bows.
I telled him I whanted candy or sumfin like dat!"
Oh...that stinking fairy never breathed a word!
Remind me to put a little extra plastic wrap
over his nose when he goes for his
Seasonal nap!
So, Monday just before we left,
Princess Snow White came to visit.
Indeed she did.
AND she had on her new SnowWhite shoes. The game plan goes like this..
rush in--kiss the Nana
then rush to the hidey hole to see
what the resident fairy has left.
I see a slight bit of hesitation this time.
A bit of trepidation mixed in with
curiosity....She opens the door
ever so s-l-o-w-l-y.Look! I think it's one of those grins..
You know the one...the one that says..
Hey! What's up with this...
I think I am pleased but I'm not
going to let you know exactly how pleased
I am yet....you know...kinda like when the
old boy takes the garbage out...
after you've only asked twice...
yeah...that look....
Oooh...she sits down and laughs..
THIS is good!
Really, really good!
What did you get, SweetCheeks?
Look-I'll show you...
I gotta suckah...a suckah shaped like a
flip flop...
Nana-that is one CRAZY fahree!Oh...baby...you don't know the half of it !
OMG!! That little girl is absolutely precious!! (And gorgeous!)
ReplyDeleteI love your blog!!
But I think I may have mentioned that, once or twice. :)
Hugs,
gabriele
Yes, that is a precious story! Love the sweet expressions on her face.
ReplyDeleteHow cute!!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I didn't know about the "Hidey Hole"!
ReplyDeleteI like the Hidey Hole, reading your posts always makes my day!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love that!!! What a brilliant idea and her expressions are so sweet! Good for you bringing the magic!
ReplyDeleteI am just popping in on my way out the door (to work-Lord love us it is gonna be a LONG day-if I'm not home by 9pm send out the search and rescue crew, will you?) ANYWAY what I wanted to tell everyone how much it means to me to have you come here and read about my little "world" and then leave a comment. That's why I always try to leave comments when I visit others....for me....this just gets me through another work-laden, sticky fingers and glued on kisses day! Thanks to ALL of you- (I won't see the kids so no sticky fingers or glue-y kisses today-unless my boss is feeling frisky) xxooxxoo Diana
ReplyDeleteNot to worry, Diana. I won't be posting it tonight. I haven't even started it yet. Probably this weekend I will get to it.
ReplyDeleteOh....this is the sweetest thing.
ReplyDeleteI think I KNOW that FAR-Ree! :)
xoRebecca
Love your blog. I just started one that I think you'll love too. Please stop by. Ms. CotedeVelvetGreige! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Diana!!! LOL! You continue to amaze me with your creativity, your humor, and the love you have for your grandkiddos! You rock, girl! :)
ReplyDeleteAhhhh...so you didn't like the snow pic, huh? I haven't the slightest idea of how that got in there! lol! And I will definitely have to check out the Shell Factory when we get down there. It sounds like the perfect place for a chic like me! :)
And....I promise I won't drink all the FAT CAT*HAPPY DOG wine (get it right, willya?) til you get here. hahaha! Hubby said that you'd just better plan a trip over here on the ferry and I'll get Debbie and her hubby down here (so you'll quit whining) and we'll all just drink wine and hang out together for a weekend....yeah? Throw that one by your Hero....
OK, I just read your post where you explain the "hidey holes" and I officially want you to be my grandma. We'll just have to explain our slight age difference some how.
ReplyDeleteYep, I am super woman didn't you know. I do the house and the yard. The front looks good, but the back yard grass is gone and has been taken over by alien weeds. The back actually stinks when I am cutting it. We may tear it up and start over next year.
ReplyDeleteDiana, you know that I always read your blogs, and enjoy them, but somehow I can't always post a reply. It may be the fairies, or it could be this 'possessed' dog that hovers nearby.
ReplyDeleteYou know, the oe from the story....Ghost in the Attic...
Shhh...Jettie-I thought we weren't going to talk about that here, sis-lol
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that Diana! I will have to remember that for the day I have little ones around again!!
ReplyDeleteHi there Diana,
ReplyDeleteHow funny! Your little grand daughter is just adorable! I bet all of your grandkids just love coming to your house! You mentioned Pictured Rocks. Yes, we did the boat tour when we were up there a few years ago and just loved it! It's amazing and gorgeous! Have a great night!
What an adorable post. Being a grandma is just the absolute cherry on top. Love your fairy hole. Don't you hate it when fairies don't pass on the important stuff...lol I know what you mean by blogging taking over reading time. I'm trying to find balance...HA!HA! Have a wonderful weekend, Patty
ReplyDeleteshe is sooo adorable!
ReplyDeletethanks for your great gray comment. loved it.
What a little cutiepatuttie!!! Marcia
ReplyDeleteSo.Darn.Cute. And I want those shoes!
ReplyDeleteI loved the story and that whole 'Hidey Hole' concept. :)
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! I want a hidey hole in my house! We have a magical elf that visits each Christmas season, but a fairy is delightful! Come to think of it... with nine grandchildren, I would need a wealthy fairy :)
ReplyDeleteLove stopping by to visit with you!
