At first I was so worried as my best friends daughter who is like a daughter to me was there in that building once a month because he company had offices there. She was supposed to be there that day, but had flown home to Oregon the day before, a couple days early! She personally knew people who died there. Thankfully she was not there on that day as was scheduled originally.
I feel especially sad for the loved ones of those lost in the horrific terrorist act. It was a horrific day in our country and I agree I think everyone remembers where they were and what they were doing on this tragic morning. Being married to a firefighter it brings that reality that this could have happened almost anywhere and first responders are always the ones running in when everyone else is running out. So many wonderful men and women gave their lives to try and save others and so many innocent human beings just doing their jobs and were in the wrong place that morning paid dearly. I pray for all the people that lost their lives that day and all the families that miss them.
KrisJunkchiccottagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13312068546640480844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1343462107745336677.post-70032446145434022952014-09-11T15:45:13.751-05:002014-09-11T15:45:13.751-05:00My BIL's birthday is today - the day is foreve...My BIL's birthday is today - the day is forever tainted for him especially.
He celebrates on a different day now.
We all have heavy hearts.Sweet Teahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15614958513434632328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1343462107745336677.post-34337612416828627252014-09-11T13:18:21.470-05:002014-09-11T13:18:21.470-05:00Thank you Diana for this wonderful post. Being in charge of a travel department with over 150 employees travel - I was scared to death that we had lost someone. Thank God we didn't, but my heart was breaking for all that had lost a loved one.
A man I worked with, his sister was the American Airlines rep taking tickets for that flight that went down. That man that was on that flight was in her face trying to get on early, but he was too early. He was bugging her so bad that she almost did not let him board. Needless to say she was devastated when the plane crashed. Poor lady was in therapy for a long time. So we all have terrible memories of that worst in our lives.
God Bless America - I still have my flag flying in the front yard.
MaryMary@mydogsmygardenandmaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03265174897498950754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1343462107745336677.post-73530972309588675082014-09-11T11:40:03.108-05:002014-09-11T11:40:03.108-05:00amen to that,amen to that,Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1343462107745336677.post-44669590964575312582014-09-11T11:03:59.995-05:002014-09-11T11:03:59.995-05:00Never Forget!

It is hard to imagine how many years have passed and yet, we are still fighting the good fight. Hope it never gets that bad again. I was on my way to work when heard it on the car radio. My job was running a very big and loud copy machine and I had a hard time hearing the radio on in the office but listened the best I could. Quite a great feeling all the flags flying by on every car and in every yard. We still fly our flag and always will. I was making myself a cup of coffee when John called from work with a tone in his voice that I had never heard - "Vera, turn on CNN" A day our lives as Americans changed, some innocence stripped away and trust frayed. This past weekend we visited dear friends in NYC ... I pride myself on observation, I looked for signs of increased police and federal level security, none of which I saw or was aware of. Although I am certain it was beefed up but silent, diligent with a watchful eye. God bless our country.
Diana thank you for your personal email, it meant a lot to me.
