WISHING YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS

 It has been a long,

strange year for me.

Hubby went into assisted living

and I am still recovering

from the last few years

of caretaking--

which caused my own health problem.

I am doing a lot better.

I baked and cooked for three days

preparing for a

Girlfriend Party

for all the decorators/undecorators

that helped with

Christmas at the Clubhouse.

Just a sneak peak at

a few little things around

my house this year.

My grandgirl, Maria,

made good use of the whiteboard.

Later we used it to play

Pictionary.

Here she is with her

Christmas apron on

waiting for

the ladies to arrive~

                           Glasses are ready for some

Christmas cheer~

My Spode got a good workout~

I have service for 24~

The piano was waiting for carols-

Didn't happen-

                            Furniture moved all around

to accommodate all the ladies~

And a sweet little gift

package for them to take home~

I had planned lots of pictures

but for some reason

they are not loading properly

and my wording is all over the place~sigh~

So-

Here's wishing you all a very

MERRY CHRISTMAS

and a NEW YEAR

filled with

HOPE, HEALTH & HAPPINESS.

Thank you for all the years

you have followed me

and been patient with my lack

of posts.

Love you all~

  2. Oh, love YOU, Diana! Wish I could have been at that girlfriend's party, such fun you must have had! I need new glasses, I thought you had to break out the "spade" and wondered for a second why you had to dig. Ha! Then, I saw your beautiful China cabinet, and I knew it was the "Spode"! Listen, if you ever need help in digging or dining, you just let me know but I am much better at the second one. Have a happy Christmas!

  6. Merry Christmas Diana and a New Year that finds you with peace. Like many others here, I’m in the beginning of your journey. Your home looks absolutely lovely! Should you find time, would it be an imposition asking for a full tour?

  8. Wow, do you ever know how to throw a parTAY! Everything looks so fab! I'm glad to hear your health is doing a little better now. The caregiving spouse so often ends up with health issues of their own due to the demands and rigors of caregiving. It's an old, old story, isn't it. Have a wonderful Christmas, Diana, and best wishes for 2026!

  24. Ohhh, Sweet Girl!!! Seeing your bright light pop up on my sidebar just BRIGHTED me this morning!!! It's already a sunny day, and now you're HERE!!! What a lovely party you had, and what a bevy of friends you must have had, surrounding and hugging and warming the atmosphere.

Such a perfect, sophisticated setting you all created, with all the silvers and whites, just perfection to bask in. I'm just so glad to hear from you, and having you pop up on LAWN TEA again---that was just the frosting on the SNOW-CONE!!

What a predicament you handled, and what a great telling of the story! I could just see The Grandmother's haughty glances, and feel your trembly hands on all those cold potatoes. What a lovely thing---to find we're connected by cooking predicaments, and the zany way we solved them. (Yours WINS, by a mile), and I love your ingenuity in such a PINCH.

So good so just imagine your sweet face telling that over coffee, as we sit comfortably upstairs in the little sitting room (we've been Getting Ready for a party for two weeks, with a health postponement, and a snowed-in). We've settled on New Year's Eve, for we've taken to celebrating with England for several years, now, and have our toasts and hugs at Seven Pip Emma as Big Ben chimes---then folks have plenty of time to go along to rowdier parties and we can be in bed at a decent hour. (here, that's before the bullets fly) Works for US.

Love and hugs across these frozen miles, and you have a fabulous Christmas with all your LOVIES! r

The Santa pic is so lovely. I hope you have a lovely Christmas, despite the change in your circumstances. And I hope to see you more often now.

  33. Your house looks festive for the Christmas season, Diana. Haven't seen Ria in a long time. She sure has grown up. I am noticing the cabinet that your Christmas China is in. I've always loved the dark traditional furniture. Those whiteboards are so delightful, and great for leaving messages for special occasions. I love what you did with the packages for the ladies. The glittery snowflake on the gifts adds a special touch. I'm glad to see a post from you today.

Merry Christmas to you, Diana, and have a special and merry week.

  49. The girlfriend party sounds like a wonderful tonic for a stressful year. I loved every single image (I have that Spode too!) and hope that your new year is a little more healthy, a little less stressful. Sending loads of love and because I'm lade to the party this year, I hope your Christmas WAS merry and that you can play or restore as it seems fit in the interim days. Happy New Year, my friend.
