BYE BYE SHAMROCKS---HELLO EASTER

While I love
St. Patrick's Day and
all things Irish
it is time to drag
 the Easter stuff out
of the basement bins,
and then to move things
around in the china hutch,
and then to bring my
bunnies out of hiding...

Why?  Well, because
 we all know that
ONE THING LEADS
TO ANOTHER,
don't we?

Why-oh-why-
in the midst of all that is going on
do I do this to myself?
Anyway,
It is time to
bring out a couple of
bunnies to
dress up the center of the table.
Look at their cute little faces!
They look so cute there
I think they should be surrounded
by other lovely Spring pieces-
like beautiful napkins.....
And then, of course, I must
drag out my old dishes
that I haven't used for several years.
Garden Party by Pfaltzgraff.
You know I have had these for almost
25 years and I still love them.
I always used them in the
Spring and Summer months
but they have been packed away
for a few years now.
The ruby thumbprint glasses
belonged to Gramma Hazel.
Not wanting to be hidden away
 another little sugared bunny
jumps in to join the fun.
Sweet peeks of what is to come.
A little close up of the florals.
Now-Here is
QUESTION #1~

HOW LONG DO YOU THINK
it will take
one of the grandkids to discover that
there are
M&M's in the flower base
that rests just below the bunnies?
QUESTION #2~
When do you think I will discover
that they have all been eaten
unbeknownst to me?

So-there you have it.
Just a touch of Easter here--
but we know here is a lot more to Easter
than bunnies, isn't there?

What are you doing for
Easter or do you bypass
Easter decorating and go right for
Springs Things?

Have a wonderful day~
I'll be around to visit as I can.

Headed over to help an old friend
with her moving process.
My oldest son and two grandboys
are going along to help.
Wish us luck-it is a big job!

Ah! Easter! Of course! Eggs..Chicks..Church..! HeHe!
Stations of the cross..those were the days..! :).

I've just back from the super~dupper market, as soon as
l walked in..Chocolate eggs everywhere..Jeeese! And, the
prices! Paying for more packaging than the egg..! :(.
Still..got six duck eggs and two goose eggs yesterday..
Looking forward to giving them a good home..like my tummy!

Oh! Lets have an Easter poem for the kiddies....
Five Brown Eggs....
Five brown eggs in a nest of hay,
One yellow chick popped out to play.
Four brown eggs in a nest of hay,
Another yellow chick cheep-cheeped Good day.
Three brown eggs in a nest of hay,
Crack went another one, Hip hooray.
Two brown eggs in a nest of hay,
One more chick pecked his shell away.
One brown egg in a nest of hay,
The last yellow chick popped out to say,
Happy Easter Day!:o).

Well..must get on, nearly lunch time over here..
Pheasant to day..alla Cacciatore..sweet potato's,
spinach, parsnips..and a little vino calapso....
Job Done...! πŸŽˆπŸŽπŸŽ‰πŸŽπŸŽˆ

Keeping it simple...no bins of Easter things and, not only that, I gave away the rabbit. Those M&Ms do look especially tempting and tasty. Love those dishes! Yes, they definitely need to be brought out into the light.

Diana, I think your dishes are beautiful. I like those rabbits too. I have not done much around here in decorating. I did get some fake tulips and ceramic birds on the mantle. I laughed about the M&M's. Those don't last long here either...it's usually me eating them. :) Blessings to all there, Love you, xoxo, Susie

...I must say, you set a beautiful table, perhaps I'll go outside today and make a snowman. Happy spring to you.

As soon as I get there!

I think the grands will find them within minutes of being in your home...and will disappear just as quick! I don't know if I'll decorate. I have some home improvements going on and the mess that goes with that! But maybe just ONE bunny can come out, don't you? Happy Spring!

Kathy said...

Your things are beautiful and I love all of them! I was just thinking yesterday that I need to get my spring/Easter things out and put away the winter. Guess I'll be doing that this week. As for the M&Ms... That was the first thing I noticed. What does that say about me?

Right now I still have a mixture of St. Patricks Day and Easter. For the most part it will stay that way, but I'll slowly but surely take the shamrocks away. Come the end of April, I'll bring out May...red white and blue although Memorial Day won't be be till the end of May. I love decorating for the seasons. It was more fun when my children were small, but now I do have some grandchildren that visit. If it were mine, those M&M wouldn't last long at all. Ha !

I miss making Easter baskets for my kids and our annual egg hunt. I think this year because my grown son is here I am going to hide some of their favorite craft beers in the back yard and make them look for them. They enjoy sampling different beers together. I love your tableware gf. I don't decorate for any seasons other than getting out my pumpkins for fall (pink of course) and at Christmas I go crazy. Love and hugs.

Easter is still almost a month away -- I predict you'll be buying MANY MORE bags of M&M's for that bunny candy dish!

Lynne said...

Not sure when, (or who) will be doing the eating.
All I know is . . . seeing them makes me want some!
I eliminated sugar from my diet the week of Ash Wednesday.
Amazing discovery that has been for me.

Loved your bunnies, dinner ware and spring things . . .
Very nice, pretty!

I decorate for the 4 seasons, rather than holidays ~ but I have some bunnies and eggs mixed with my spring banner and birds.
Gorgeous tablescape!

Love your Easter bunnies and your beautiful table setting. I want to sit at YOUR table for Easter!! Will that be one of the choices??? Love the cranberry thumbprint glasses. My grandmother had a set of those, and they were inherited by my oldest brother. His then wife took them when they divorced, and when he asked to have them back because they belonged in HIS family, she said that somehow she tripped and fell and broke them...so that is that...somehow none of us believed that story...but anyway, I love seeing your Grandmother's glasses here...takes me back to seeing my grandmother's glasses. They were very much like these...hey, what is your name? LOL...Were you ever married to my brother??? LOL. Just kidding. Yes, Easter is so much more than bunnies and beautiful tables...it is all about Jesus and His sacrifice for our sins on the cross. And for forgiveness. I guess that means I need to forgive my ex-sister in law for whatever she did with my grandmother's glasses, huh? Yep, I do. Thank you for helping me do just that. Now that I can see these glasses here on your page, I won't miss hers so much and I can forgive and forget. God bless you dear friend...you didn't know you were running a kind of "confessional" here today, did you? Love ya!!

Hi Diana. Love your Easter bunnies and table arrangement. Oh my, you brought back such a memory I had forgotten. Years ago, when my girls were just toddlers, I was a Bridal Consultant at a local store something like Macys. And your dishes....were poplar then and many gals those them for there dinnerware. Thanks for the memories....funny what sparts one. You did!

I don't see how you do it, I cannot keep up. But you do so much beautiful decorating. It all brings back sweet memories of my sister. She was the decorator in our family. Good luck on the task of assisting in a move. Heavy load.

Well...I would have discovered those M&M's within seconds...I think kids are quicker than me lol...your bunnies are so cute Diana! And those dishes are very dainty, I love them. I don't celebrate religious holidays traditionally because I follow a more Paganistic, Natural spirituality. But I was brought up Catholic, so I remember all of the holidays and I do celebrate them with food and decorations, just because it's fun for me! I like to celebrate life any time I can with food and drink and with Alex! :)

I love your Easter decorations.
They are so beautiful.

I don't decorate for Easter, but I love Spring flowers, and use lots of wildflowers for vases in the kitchen and the living room. :)

Everything looking nice at your place. Cute bunnies.
I'm sure the grands will spot the candy in no time at all. :)
I don't decorate for the different seasons and holidays. Only Christmas.

bill burke said...

The candy will be the first thing they will look for when they enter your house. :)

Those M & M s were spotted as soon as I saw the pic so I'm sure the grands would see them immediately and grab a handful. At the next table choice, I want to sit at your table. I love bunnies. (fake ones...we shoot the real ones) and love the china and atmosphere of that table. Will shooting rabbits ban me from sitting at any table? Happy spring. Patty McDonald

I love your Easter decorations...they are absolutely gorgeous! Especially that beautiful stemware...oh my goodness!! Just stunning! I would have eaten all the M&M's while I was decorating the table so that there would NONE left for the grandkids...LOL Chocolate is my weakness and I'm never eager to share! Love and hugs!!

So pretty all of it! I love Garden Party too. I think you will find out afterwards about the candy. I always have some in wrappers and find the papers under the dining room table from the littlest one here...That is how I know. xoxo Dolly

I love Spring and all your goodies you've brought out. Well, I'm a packing fool. I packed all my dishes and eggs in one basket for the movers to eventually move. I'll be lucky if I can get myself sorted out before fall hits. I put a couple bunny pillows out in the sunroom after Christmas because I knew this is how it would be with our downsizing move. I need the energy of a spring bunny cause this chick's seen her better days! You are a blessing helping your friend. My sisters are pitching in and helping me. I couldn't do it without them!

As you can see from my latest posts, I ADORE bunnies! I haven't pulled out my Easter decorations yet but will climb up into the attic soon (such a chore!) I don't decorate quite as much as I used to when the grands were smaller...trying to pare down with "stuff". I do love Easter though. All your Easter decorations are just beautiful!!!! Speaking of dishes...last week I bought the prettiest green dinner plates and round colorful placemats at.....Dollar Tree!!!! I couldn't believe it! They are so "spring" and you can't beat the price!!! I love me a bargain:) They also had the plates in blue and another color but I forget which!!!

CHERI said...

Oops...forgot something! As for the M&Ms...I wouldn't take any wagers as to how quickly they will be discovered & gone!!!! And if I were there, there would probably be none left for Grandkids!!! I can't say NO to chocolate that's just laying there calling my name!!!

Doris said...

Your bunnies are adorable! I doubt I’ll get to decorating much for Easter this year. Too much work for just a few weeks.
The Grandkids will discover the candy as soon as they walk in the door! My mother in-law always had candy out in dishes and the kiddos always helped themselves. Good memories 😊
I can leave the spring m&m’s alone....there must be something in the coating that bothers my stomach. Lucky me ;-)

Those sure are cute bunnies, and your dishware is beautiful!

There is a lot of bunnies and rabbits outside of the house where my wife and I live.

Keep this in mind. Your friend will want to pack up everything and take it with her. If she's going farther away, encourage her to get rid of things she doesn't use any longer. I've been experiencing this problem and have to kick myself to not pack stuff up.

Henny Penny said...

How you find the time to do so much is beyond me. Your Easter decorating is so pretty! Oh my goodness! I love the bunnies, and the dishes, and the flowers, and the whole thing. You have such cute grandchildren (I love the "who wants to look like a weed" comment), and here you are off to help someone packing to move. You are amazing! Love, Henny

Shari Burke said...

I don't know whether the bunnies still have their supply of M&Ms, but they're the first thing I noticed when I scrolled to that pic ;-) Love your grandma's red glasses!

My mother loved Easter too. She had figurines and she loved helping the small children look for Easter eggs.

I must get up in the attic and bring out my Easter pretties too:) I could eat all of those M&Ms in just a few minutes:) Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!

So behind checking in! I have those M&Ms too -- so far, so good. But Ihaven't been here very much!

Easter is my most favorite holiday of all and I look forward to it all year, this year it comes late I guess. I have not got out my Easter/spring decor yet, but have plenty of time since it comes later this year. Remember Easter bonnets? Hope y'all had a nice weekend!!

I spied those pastel yummy looking M & M's right away! Your bunnies are adorable and your table is so pretty! I have been thinking about taking my bunnies out but haven't yet. Probably because I have to clear away and put away other things to fit them! Decorating woes :-)

DARLING bunnies! I adore bunnies year round, and I do put my smallish collection out at Easter time, in fact I will be doing so in the next day or two. Of course Easter is Resurrection Sunday and we're celebrating that rather than chocolate eggs and pastel candies, but it's still fun. Your grands will have those m&m's gone in a flash but even if you notice, you won't mind. xoxo

Your bunnies and Easter lovelies make me want to put my Easter stuff out already. That flower vase is so unique and pretty, and what better candy to put in there than M&M's? Your Ruby glasses that belonged to your Gramma is a treasure. Such a lovely table you set, Diana.

Well, if they're anything like me, I spotted them immediately and they'd last a few hours, maybe. Chocolate Lovers Unite! Love the bunnies, florals, dishes and those beautiful napkins! Not sure if I'll get to do much decorating this year. It all depends upon the timing of this deconstruction/rebuild process. I don't want my bunnies getting bruised! I'll probably still decorate the porch with my egg wreath, bunnies and spring/Easter goodies. So sweet of you to help with your friend's moving chores! Enjoy! Hugs!

I am back into the groove again. Daughter and I and Granddaughter Melissa gave a party for Sids 8oth Birthday. It was open house. I have some posted in my blog.

Then in the summer plan to have another one at my daughters. As for travelling
this winter would be too hazard for his family siblings to my senior building in the common area where I had it.

We dont drink neither Sid and I. Just a couple who enjoys the non-acholic.
