FALL IS COMING- HARD TO BELIEVE

I don't know about you
but I can already feel
hints of Fall in the air.
I noticed some trees with leaves
that are tinged with color already.

Remember before Pinterest?
I had books-lots and lots of loose leaf books.
They were full of ideas and things that I love.
I am digging a few of them out for
FALL IDEAS.
Most of them came from

Outside, I am smitten by this.
Fall is just moving in
but there is lots of green left.
I would love to have chairs and plants
that looked like this.
How about a little corner of the garden
decorated like this?
At the end of the day
 what could be better than
hanging out by a firepit?
Know what else is magical about Fall?
A Fall Fairy Garden?
Do you remember that the  little girls and I
used to put together
Fairy Garden of our very own?

Here is what it looked like
when we first made it.
Want to know how it looks
decorated for Fall?
We let the fairies
take care of their own garden.
Can you spot the house?
Stinking Fairies!!!!

Hope you have a
wonderful day and
enjoy every last moment
of summer.
Fall and winter will soon be upon us---
ready or not!

  1. I am fully enjoying these last few weeks of summer. Although I love fall (it's my favorite season), those cold winter months will be here all too soon. By the way, do the years seem to just fly by? I love all the pictures you posted. And yes, my fairies won't take care of their garden either.

  9. I feel a hint of fall in the air too. It is my favorite season so I look forward to it, and all that comes with it.....smells, colors, pumpkins, apples, etc. Even tho it is hot and humid, early in the morning and late in the evening, I feel fall. Hope you have a nice day.

  10. Indeed, fall will be here in a blink of an eye. We, too, have felt touches of autumn in the air and our Aspen trees are already turning color. You've shared some beautiful photos today. Hugs to you, Diana!

  11. Still full on summertime here. Hot and humid and no relief in sight. We are getting some desperately needed rain here today, but we are weeks and weeks away from any type of fall weather. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. Blessings dear friend!!

  12. No sign of Fall here yet, still high summer.

  13. I am trying to soak up every moment of what is left of summer. My grandchildren are all excited now to get back to school, which says fall in my books...I do tend to wilt in the heat of summer, but still it is better than the chill that fall and winter bring. I try to embrace the seasons as they come, but favor spring and summer days. No signs of fall here yet and I'm thankful for that. Fall decorating though is something I love to do and I have almost as much of fall decorations as I do Christmas these days. We need the color that they bring when everything turns brown and then gray. I try to make up for what is outside with decorations inside. In the summer there's not much need as color is everywhere.

  14. LOL ~ what fall?!?!
102* here tomorrow; 108 the next day!!!
The only leaves falling are from the river birches, because the heat stresses them out!!
    Enjoy!!

  15. YES. I was just noticing that today. It is starting to feel more crisp, less summery.

  16. I'm never ready for summer to end, until that first hint of coolness hits the air and the leaves start changing. It's kinda a game changer for me and next thing I know I'm all about Fall, then it's like I never want it to end....until the first frost or snowfall then I get all geared up for winter. I guess I"m just a seasonal kind of gal haha. I love the idea of a fairy garden !

  17. I see the subtle changes of fall. The crisp cool air is on it's way. Loved the photos. There is lots of fall and Thanksgiving is the stores already. xo

  18. After working in the yard in 90+ degree heat yesterday, I am ready for cooler temps for sure. Now that our girls are grown, summer months aren't the same as when they were home from school and we had to savor each minute.

  19. I am chomping at the bit! More than ready!

  20. Well here in CT at 90 degrees, full sun and plenty of humidity, summer is still very much here and not going anywhere for another month anyway. I'm surprised you're seeing hints of Fall already - As I get older I'm not rushing the seasons... we never know how many we've got, ya know? Beautiful header on your blog! ....

  21. I don't even want to think about fall yet
I wish it would cool down so I can enjoy my back patio a bit longer
I do like the fall flowers around the tree

  22. Hey Diana, Your fairies need a bush hog to mow...a weed whacker is not enough. LOL. You made me laugh out loud. Love it. I emptied out Emma old fairy garden this year and never fixed it back. It makes me sad. I miss my long legged girl. At least the playhouse your grands had, will be played in again. There's a hint of autumn out ...even in the heat. Blessings to you, Love you, xoxo, Susie

  23. No hints of Fall here in Florida just yet. We need to get through hurricane season (end of November) before we start feeling Fallish! Those outdoor decorating ideas are great! Yes, what did we do before Pinterest? LOL

  24. Hi Diana,
It is still summer going on here. Heat and humidity and lots of rain today. No fall yet except in the stores lol! I am a summer girl but am actually looking forward to sweater weather. Have a great start to the new week.

  25. YES! Bring it on...it can't come soon enough for me. We are also getting a few tinges of color and the big yellow poplar leaves are already falling off. Yay!

  26. I am sure you are right that there are early signs of fall, but trees are often stressed by pollution and this year especially by drought, causing them to shed leaves prematurely.

  27. Oh my mouth is watering for FALL!!! But it's so hot here (over 100) that Fall seems so very far away. It seems it comes later and later around here and before I can barely blink my eyes it turns into winter. Fall is my favorite season by far. Love the pictures you posted to remind me that it is coming...sooner or later:) My granddaughter and I made a fairy garden a few years ago. I'm so glad she and I have made some sweet, sweet memories together.

  34. No Fall in sight here. I would be happy for rain. Our lake is low, our yard is filled with huge cracks and there is a snake hanging around our patio. I long for cool weather and Mr. Snake to go into hibernation. I would dearly love to see true signs of Fall. It's my favorite season. Those pics are gorgeous.

  35. Love all these pictures and I love fall but we are far from it here! In the 90's ugh! Hope you are doing well, i'm trying to get caught up...again.... lol. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon!

  36. We are seeing signs of fall here, too...some leaves turning, and some of my Chinese lanterns are orange now. I can feel summer ending now, too...

  37. I just today noticed a tree with fall colors and it surprised me!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. THe only thing falling in my neck of the woods are trees! From summer storms. We've had so much rain, my garden actually looks more like late spring than summer. But I have seen fallen acorns!

    ReplyDelete
  39. We don't get autumn here in NE Florida until about December.... such a change from our many years in Colorado and other parts of the country. I will enjoy your reports of the changes with the season.

I had a flower bed in an old red wheel barrow, just like yours, in our last house. The fairy garden is cute.

  43. No Fall here yet. Not happy with the extreme heat but I don't want to give into Fall yet. I still have new summer clothes I haven't worn yet!!

  44. No sign of Fall around here except EVERYTIME i go into a store like Hobby Lobby all they have up is FALL AND CHRISTMAS! I love Fall but I don't want to think of FALL until it's acturally FALL September 21! Not one secon before.

I look at it this way its only been summer for less than a month and a half!

  45. You know, I was really annoyed that so many people posted on social media on August 1st that summer was over! I mean, really? Around these parts we still have at least 6 weeks worth of "summer" temps to look forward to. Our kids are getting ready to sweat in school for the first month as they always do......don't get me wrong, fall is my absolute favorite season, but is it here yet? Nah! (However I did see my first red leaf and I was flabbergasted!:)) xo Kathleen

  46. Oh how I wish! I'm so tired of close to or over 100 degrees. I'd love an early Fall but it won't be until the end of October.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I still have fairy gardens in pots and they take care of their garden the same way!!! I don’t think they care about gardening as much as we give them credit for it! I’m not ready for fal. I love summer. And I don’t like winter at all.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Even way down here in s.e. FL I have had 'hints' of fall coming. They are little blessings to be appreciated and I do appreciate each and every one. Fall won't really be here until near the end of Oct, early Nov.

  49. I am loving the pictures. Girl, it's so hot here that I wonder if it will ever feel like Fall when Fall gets here! I see all the Fall decor coming out on the shelves and I am longing for some cooler weather. I have been wanting to do a Fairy garden for my grandgirls to enjoy all summer and have not gotten around to it! GRR....I hope that you have a wonderful day. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  50. In the last years we haven't experienced fall till about November. Just a short time before winter.

  51. Apparently the Fairies have no pride in their landscaping. :) Fall is FAR from us down here....still battling the heat of summer. I do love all your photos though; a girl can dream.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I envy you! I wish I could feel just a hint of Fall down here, but it's just not happening. We don't start getting cool down days until October. Your fairies need to be scolded ;-)

  53. There are hints of fall here as well, Diana, but not the temps, that's for sure!! Even our nights are warm these days....yuk!!

  54. In spite of the heat I am NOT ready for fall. Don't even want to think about it. Summer flies by too quickly. Those fairies seem to be rather lazy when it comes to weeding! They're off gallivanting, I think.

  55. I am so looking forward to Fall!! This heat is killing me!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  56. I love those photos. They look like fairy tale fall! But I am clearly not ready. It seems as though summer has barely begun, though I did see a yellow leaf and a red one too!

  57. I loved seeing all the Fall photos, Diana, and I'm looking forward to the cooler temperatures.
    Happy weekend to you! xx

  58. I have always wanted to do a fairy garden. Yours is precious but I do think your fairys need a fairy lawn mower. Haha.
have a great weekend. I have one more day left at the beach then we are heading home Sunday morning.

  59. Hi,
I am ready for cooler temps.

My dear friend, we made our trip to Door County, but it was so fast and full. I wanted so bad to meet up with my 12/12 birthday blog bud. I do hope to get back your way within the next year or sooner. We also will have more time, this was a fast trip due to my son, Sam's schedule. So here is to next time .. I PROMISE!!

  60. We have leaves falling here and at first I thought it was due to needing rain however my yard never turned brown. I have yellow leave and I found a red one the other day. I am glad...I LOVE FALL. Gotta ask, you were wanting a bridge? How is that going? haha

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm enjoying the garden, but I do love the changing of the leaves and the cool nights. I hope all is well with you, dear Diana.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ha Ha!! I think my fairy garden would be just like yours, if I had one. I know better than to build one, because I know those "stinking fairies" won't do their part...and I don't need something else to "clean". LOL. But it was a great idea!! yes, your BH&G pictures are lovely. I'd love my yard to look like that. Those stinkin fairies won't help me with anything at all!! I give up!! But I can't wait for fall!!I am definitely a fall person!! Summer has been here long enough. Time for a change. Have a blessed evening dear friend!! This was fun.

  63. Fall doesn't arrive in Texas until the beginning of October usually but we have had a serious change in our weather with cooler temps and rain for a few days. What a blessing!

I still have a notebook where I collect torn pages. The amazing thing is that some of those pages are 10 years old but they remain favorites of mine.

    ReplyDelete
  64. It's still all summer all the time around here and I am not letting go of it without a fight. Our winters are just as brutal as yours and I just can't deal with the thought of it yet!! ;)

  65. Oh gosh I am so looking to Fall and cooler weather but I have a ways to wait yet here in SC.. It's still so incredibly hot and will be for quite sometime but I am itching to take out my Fall decor which, I may do anyway despite the weather! :) LOL
