HERE IS THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING AT MY HOUSE! Whooo-Hoooo

Look! Look!
Can you believe it is March 20, 2015 already?
It is the
FIRST DAY OF SPRING!
Isn't this pretty?
Care to join me?
What?
What do you mean I am a liar?
Oh! Yeah!
This IS my porch but it is from
THE END OF MAY LAST YEAR!!!!

Here is
THE REAL PICTURE
of what the first day of Spring looks like here.
and this....
yes-I still have the Christmas flag
on the playhouse-thanks for noticing.
and this.....
THAT is the sad reality of  living in
WISCONSIN IN SPRING!

However, there is absolutely NO EXCUSE
for me to leave this out by the back door
until today.
Which reminds me?
Did I ever share a Christmas post with you?
NO?
Well, no time like the present!
Notice the ice on the table?
That was my PRESENT for Christmas.
By the way,
That is the same table that you saw up above.
Hurry! Hurry all you early shoppers!
There are only 279 days until Christmas!
You're welcome!

  1. I at least took my Christmas decorations off of my porch, including my flag. I put up a few Easter wreaths bought myself a potted tulip plant for my living room. I need the promise of Spring!

  4. I think the Christmas flag is appropriate in the snow! It looks like Christmas outside anyway. You're too funny! I love your Spring table and forget that everywhere isn't like Georgia in the Spring although, we have cooler weather today, 48. I knew better than to buy too many annuals yet, but all the stores have them out. I agree 279 more days will fly by! I say leave it out year round and save yourself some time! A lady in our neighborhood (first house with the huge picture window) leaves her tree up all year! Sending wishes for warmer weather your way!

I love your play house, my hubby built one for our grandchildren when they were little.
    Happy first day of Spring!

  6. We are expecting 3-6 inches of snow today and there is a winter storm warning in effect until tomorrow. My harbor looks like yours and we still have snow piles in the yard. Spring? Really? Well, at least the birds are chirping and the chipmunks are back. Perhaps they know something I don't! ;) Happy, happy!!

  9. I was going to pop over to your house until you said the photo was from LAST May.....It's pretty gloomy out there today here also. We are supposed to see sun later....whoo hooo. I could handle 50 and sunshine for a few days.

  13. That looks just like my view, too, Diana. The second picture, not the first, hahahaha! Does the Bay freeze over in the winter time? It is going to take awhile for our lake to thaw out. Thankfully there haven't been any dummies (er, I mean "adventurous folks") that have been out there lately!
Hope you have a good weekend, Happy Spring!

  14. Oh, you have a beautiful view...winter or spring! Your table is also gorgeous winter or spring! I just put a couple Easter things out the other day. Still working on spring decor however!

  15. Diana, Brr, it still looks cold there. Once it gets warm though, you have the best views of water and skies. I saw some wreaths sill on a farm house near here. :):) But I saw signs of spring about 4 weeks ago...at the gas station, yes, big piles of bagged mulch !!! I laughed when I saw it and pointed it out to Ted," just like the first robin, bags of mulch." Hope you have a nice weekend. I am hoping I can clear a couple flower beds and still go to Horton's tomorrow. I will think of my blog sisters while I am there. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  19. Hi Diana,
Happy Spring to you too. It is such a pretty view to see the water and must be lovely in spring and summer. Have a wonderful day and weekend.

  20. I'll take my Springtime any way I can get it! Even with a shot of last Christmas!

    LOL!

The taxes are done . . . today is an ordinary "gray" Pacific Northwest day . . .

    I'm in!
    Let this season begin!

    Happy Spring, Sweet D!

  22. I've always thought that "spring" was a misnomer living here in the high north country, but for the first time ever, we are experiencing SPRING on the first day of spring, which is just CRAZY! We haven't had any snow since January, and sadly, we needed it! So today, dear Diana, I'm going to enjoy our first real spring on spring day ever, and hope that your spring comes very soon!! :) Your table setting from last year looked so delicious and inviting that I would most certainly have loved to sat around your table for a visit! You have a knack for decorating! Your bay looks quite desolate at the end of the winter, but I am hoping that a late spring will bring lots of happiness and beauty to you! Hugs to you today!

  23. haha... thanks for encouraging and reminding us to get our Christmas shopping done :) I went to college in Wisconsin and I remember how cold it could be, but it seemed by May Spring was in full bloom....

    Happy Spring, my friend! Hugs!

  24. Is it already March 21st at your house? LOL!! I have that same birdfeeder swing. The ropes pretty much rotted, though, so I have it sitting in the crook of the tree until I replace the ropes. The birds love it there. They would rather sit there and eat, than in the one I have hanging from the tree.

  25. Ever since I read Rabbi Jonathan Cahn's message that Jesus was actually born in March/April during the time that lambs were born, I think it's okay to celebrate Christmas in Spring! So you are right on time after all!! Now if you could get some springtime temperatures!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lol! Guess with the snow still around the Christmas stuff doesn't seem so out of place!

  27. Loved the tablescape from last year. I can't believe that you have that much snow and the lake frozen. You are to funny. We didn't get winter and very little Spring as it's going to be 90 again next week. I guess we shouldn't complain. But I would have liked to see some Spring.
Have a great weekend and behave your self LOL

  28. It is March 29/2015 at my place to-day. My Grandson Evans birthday day after Sids.

So how did you get to March 21 may I ask? It looks cold enough brrr for Christmas. Better go Christmas shopping early. You think.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well, don't feel too badly, Diana, we still have snow everywhere and I'm ready for it to melt! NOW! Now you just shut up about Christmas! :) That is a pretty table you set last year and maybe soon you'll be back piddling again. Thanks always for your visits.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  30. Oh, you totally had me fooled for a minute there! I was like "what???" Hee! I'm sure spring will make its way to you soon. I think the water view is actually really pretty like that. Enjoy your weekend!

  31. Oh yesssss.....spring has sprung here. Love the pics of your spring and the Bay, looks a little cold though. Burrrrr. I like your bird feeder lawn chair....at first glance I thought it was a lawn chair, but wait how could it be hanging from a shepherds hook???? Then I realized it was for the birds....cute. Have a good day. The men were hear to look at our ceiling and basement windows....he said he wished he could take his magic wand and the work would be done.....but it looks like the ceiling has to be gutted and start over. Oh my.

  35. No snow in our yard! But being by the Bay you are probably slightly colder! But what a beautiful day for the first day of spring! Birds are singing and plants are just starting to pop out of the ground.

  39. WE are going to have Spring or something similar any day now. I have a friend who lives in Green Bay and she of course has the same weather. xo

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh, Diana, you are too funny for words. But I have to say, when the weather is just right you must feel so special to live where you do. It looks gorgeous..I am not too far ahead of you as I just took the Merry Christmas board off the front porch 2 weeks ago and still haven't decorated it for spring. Maybe next year..Happy Spring Day..Judy

  41. Oh boy, I hear Diana! It has definitely felt more like Christmas than March in my part of the state. (We did have three or four nice days recently). But....snow is in the forecast for Monday! I'd rather be sitting around your pretty May table! Jane

  42. Sure doesn't look like spring in your neck of the woods, does it? I didn't realize you live in Wisconsin. I'm in IL, only 15 min from the WI border. I'm assuming you live at least several hours north of me though since you still have all that snow. Ours is all melted here except for those ugly, dirty snow mountains left in parking lots.

  43. This from the gal who just packed the last Christmas tree away this morning...I am in no mood for Christmas countdowns! I'm actually thinking your corner is looking pretty good...all that great stretch of bare ground to the frozen lake...Lake Superior?

  44. I watched Elf yesterday..I cannot tell a lie..I felt a tiny twinge of Christmas spirit. But I quickly reined that in and went back to my spring cleaning!

  45. Hi there - just popped over from "This and That' where you mentioned the Wombats look a bit scary - just thought I'd let you know that they are rather placid herbivores, who turn tail and run away from bright lights, noise and most other things. I suppose if you cornered one they are big enough to look after themselves - but scary? Not really!

Just had a wonderful autumn morning walk here, so spring can't be too far away for you!

    Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne

  46. Following a Polish tradition, I keep my Christmas decorations up until Candlemas (February 2). Home for the Holidays... If anyone asks, say you're celebrating the Vernal Equinox :D

  47. I can't wait to see flowers! I have bulbs but none have opened.

  48. Here in Georgia the grass is getting green, the daffodills are blooming, the Bradford pears are in bloom and some plum trees are blooming. I love our early springs. But we pay for it in the middle of summer when it is hotter than heck and so humid you feel like you are in a sauna. Hope it is spring time for you soon.

  49. Do have Christmas down and put away but still have a red painted Valentine heart on the front door which will stay there until I do something Easter. Hopefully the snow that fell today will be melted tomorrow.

Wishing you an outstanding spring with or without the snow!!! And Christmas...ha...it will be here before you know it....you should just leave up the flag!!! Nicole xoxo

  53. As we say here, bless your heart! :) I understand it snowed today in many areas. Although I hate the heat we have here in the summer, I know I couldn't live where there's so much snow and for so long.

Your table looks beautiful ~ May or December!

  56. AT least you don't have the snow that NY got. It looks cold in your neck of the woods. It is warm here today 50's . Flowers are trying to peek through. In case I don't get back to the dancing post. Tell your dancing girl congrats. I love those pictures. I was hoping to get out to Colorado to see my grand dance. With this crazy schedule I don't know if I will. Showing yesterday was a little more positive. Getting closer, hah. Hugs

  57. Oh the snow! It seems to find us everywhere! We have had wonderful warm temps but we are never fooled here in Colorado! We know it could be 70 today and a foot of snow tomorrow! LOL! I have to tell you, I saw an article about some middle school basketball players in Wisconsin. One of their cheerleaders has Down's Syndrome. At a game recently the people in the stands were taunting her! Those boys stopped playing, walked off the court and surrounded her letting the crowd know that was not going to happen on their watch! I thought, that is one cool school, parents raising decent, kind kids and I love seeing those kinds of stories. Had to share it with you and you may have seen it, since you live there. THanks for sharing with us today. Have a beautiful weekend.

  58. We've got our memories of last summer to keep us warm here on the North Coast of Ohio too. Hubby drove up to the lake a week or so ago and took pictures of Lake Erie still covered with several feet of ice and the beach still covered with snow to email to our friends in Florida. For now I have to experience spring vicariously through the pictures from my sunbelt friends. FYI - we are expecting a high of 31 degrees and a low of 15 degrees in my neighborhood today, I should think your neighborhood will be cold today too.
