Romantic Homes January/February 2015 Issue

I missed so much time
when I had pneumonia!
I am trying to catch up with certain posts
I usually do each month.

Well, I got lucky
BECAUSE
Romantic Homes combined the
January/February Issue.

I really don't know how lucky that is
because it means I paid for 12 issues
and now they are combining some other ones
so I will get TEN issues instead of TWELVE.
Yeah- that is the kind of luck I have!

Anyway,
Is this not the cutest cake?
I don't think you have to wait for
Valentine's Day to make this for someone special.
 Pink Pearl Lady Cake
recipe is on Page 36.

I thought the cover was just lovely.
Got your cake mess cleaned up from
baking that heart cake above?
Good!  Now then
 you can visit  the
PINK HOUSE
owned by
It is softly sweet and livable.
Here's a little sneak peek at the Florida estate
of a New York couple.
This home was designed by

It looks like Florida, doesn't it?

Okay-Now-Doesn't the home of
just make you dream of warm summer days?
Even though we are freezing our butts off here.
She has the most beautiful blog.
You can find it by clicking on her name above.
Prepare to  have your mouth hang open for a while.
And while your mouth is hanging open....
purse your lips a bit and
BLOW HARD.
Then you can blow up balloons to put together
this beautiful garland
styled by

So-There you have it.
A few things I love in the
January/February Issue of
Romantic Homes.

Know what else I love?
You!
Thanks for following along here.
Here's how I am feeling about you this morning....
Lips still puckered up from the balloon blowing
are they?  Good!
Here's to you!

Geez- I hope you brushed your teeth already!

  2. I'm definitely ready to think of fresh flowers and spring like weather. Gorgeous photos, minus the monkey. We were all set to enjoy some time at our aframe cottage but arrived to frozen well pipes. We turned around and are back home. I'm officially ready to help mother nature move spring along!

  7. I am not a monkey fan really but my oldest Granddaughter and my hubby are into the monkey business with monkey cards since she was like 8. So for Birthdays to each other or conversations. That's them.

So they still have carried it on as quotes. Love you Monkey.( Grandpa) I like your home looks and yes that cake is awesome at any time.

    -GRINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN-

something happened, to me. I used to be able to droll over layouts in magazines. I did. but along the way, something happened.

    interesting, hu?

wonder if I am the only, only, only one....? in pretty blog land? to whom this has happened....?

    oh well.....

    hugssssss....

  12. I don't think I've seen this issue yet! Hmmmm....... I may have to get a better look at it before it's gone (if not already). Thanks for sharing some images. I'm hanging out at home feeling awful with a nasty cold now! I slept with a vaporizer last night. I haven't had a cold in such a long time. I forgot how awful it is. So, some good magazines would be nice to look at this weekend.

  14. Pretty Rooms......well that is the pits, pay for 12 issues and only get 10. I'd call customer service, they should make up for your loss. A few extra issues would be fine. Oh well.....no wonder these CEO's are rich beyond my understanding.....they can afford those pretty rooms, I can't. HAHAAHHAA now that I have that off my chest I feel better. LOL!!! Love the monkey and his smoochy lips, I just say another monkey yesterday on a blog....I think I will save your monkey and that one to my file.....be fun to see them pop up on my screen saver...thanks for the KISS!!!

  17. You always seem to find so much more than I do in Romantic Homes. I've been disappointed in recent months and don't think I'm going to renew my subscription. Thanks for the tip about Westbrook's blog, lovely!

  18. Those are all beautiful photos, but they don't inspire me to make any changes around here. I would much rather be reading a book or a blog. I might be interested in baking that beautiful and elegant cake. I love the pink pearls. They remind me of the earrings I wore to our son's wedding.
I can't seem to get up enough breath to blow up balloons, and I will only dare to blow a kiss in the direction of those ugly lips!! From a very safe distance. You're so silly, I love it!! Xoxo

  19. Diana, I just told my husband that we were being cheated about the number of issues of magazines. LOL. The issue isn't any bigger either. :):) The last cake I bake was called a dump cake. I am no longer into fancy cake making. It's easier to just put a can of apples into a spice cake and bake...you probably will never see that in Romantic Homes. LOL. I did love that Floridian living room.Blessings to you , xoxo,Susie

  20. Can you believe that I still have not seen this magazine in person? I really have to go find and subscribe. :)

  21. I loved all those photos. What a great magazine. That cake was amazing!

  22. I love Romantic Homes. It's my favorite after British Country Living and British Country Homes and Interiors. Thanks for the smooch!

  23. I've never read the magazine :-{ I don;t really consider myself a romantic person, so I guess this why I'm not drawn to the magazine. But from the photos I might have to change my mind. Also, I'm frugal and you buy all the magazine and then toss them? Only one I get is Country Living! I wish there still was a cottage style magazine.

  24. Romantic Homes is one of my all time faves. I used to subscribe to a ton of magazines but now it's mostly Country Living and Romantic Homes. I think they all do that at some point during the year - combine issues. Irritating, yes but I still love getting them and re-reading them throughout the year.

  25. First of all I am glad you are feeling better! Be careful you don't do too much too fast are you can relapse. I am sure you have been hearing that one. I have to watch out that I don't do too much when I am feeling good are a bad time will come. I hear you about the magazines combining issues. They all seem to be doing that and/or going up on prices. I am letting most of mine expire I am so sick of it! That heart cake looks yummy!

  26. Love Romantic Homes magazine. I'll be looking for it at the store.

  29. I love, love, love the dining room with the columns. I was supposed to get columns in mine and opted not to at the last minute. Now I wish I had.

  30. You're too funny! Love your new look, especially the new lipstick! Romantic Homes is a favorite of mine too. You have shared the most beautiful pages! I also adore Carolyn Westbrook too! I'm off to visit her blog. Hope you're behaving and feeling better with each passing day!

  31. Love Romantic Homes, but just don't buy it anymore..I will pick it up look at the price and think "I could buy a roast for that!" so I put it back down. So thanks at the peek!

  32. I love this magazine. And I hope you feel better every day. It sure takes a long time to get over some of this sickness. Sending you lots of sweet hugs, Diane

  33. Love all the pictures so inspiring! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

  34. I can't believe I missed this issue! I don't subscribe because it's funner for me to go to the bookstore and pick it up. I cringe when I check out because I am a magazinaholic and the price on some of these is insane! I justify it as... it's cheaper than taking vacation! :) Glad you are on the mend. xo

  37. I sure hope you feel better soon, that last picture of you, has me really not wanting that wet kiss. The homes are beautiful, and I love seeing your magazines.

  38. Now that you mentioned it I never received that copy of Romantic Homes. If I did I never looked at it. I am a little disappointed that the magazine is going in a new direction. I also hate it when they use pink print, it's very hard to read. But I will fuss a little and still continue to get it.
    Feel better dear friend.
