Finish It Up Friday- Random Five

While I was gone from blogland
I tried to get a lot of things
sorted out -including pictures.

Here are some I want to share
and then I can then file them.

MyHero had Valentine's Roses waiting for me
when I got home from my roadtrip.
His generosity in floral offerings
was only exceeded by his generous offering of
clothes waiting to be washed.
I might have lied exaggerated just a bit there.

Once again, like everyone else in this house,
the Christmas Cactus is confused.
Umm...it is February-
You are either really LATE blooming
or really early!
-but you sure are purty-

I swear that if there is a camera out in the city
my grandgirls rush it.
Here you see Ria and SweetCheeks
on the
FRONT COVER
of the local downtown promotional magazine.
They are standing there
with the mayor, Jim Schmitt.

The mayor looks like he wishes he could be
somewhere else.
Go figure!

Here's one of my favorite pictures of SweetCheeks.
Ignore the pink shoes above.

Now-look at the shoes below.
This is Lulu, Ria, SweetCheeks and Naomi
on vacation.
Anyone care to guess who is wearing the
WHITE SHOES?
Anyone?  Anyone?
Anyone?

MyHero looked at the picture and said~
Oh!  Look at Julia (SweetCheeks)  making a LETTER J
with her shoes.
I said~ It looks to me like she is stepping on someone's toes!  duh

Here's to a great Friday
and I hope that
NO ONE STEPS ON YOUR TOES
today!

Guess what?
I am working at the VA hospital again today.
I was only supposed to work two days a week
but they were short of help today.
Guess they know a sucker when they see one.
I'm thinking of having it tattooed on my head
like this so EVERYONE knows!
Have a great day!

Diana, you're too funny! I love your roses; they're so pretty! Your Hero sounds like mine with the pile of laundry! I came home from the hospital and it was running out of the laundry shoot and basket. He said, he "wasn't out of clothes yet"! :) I know you'll have fun volunteering at the VA- what a great idea! You'll definitely keep them in stitches!

Beautiful flowers, Diana! And very sweet kiddos. Our daughter was in Florida at Disney this past week too. I'm picking them up from the airport tomorrow morning. Pretty chilly temps down there but so much better than their -35 Windshill back at their home. They will spend Saturday and Sunday and head home, so we are thrilled to have a short visit with them.

Those girls sure are cover girls! They steal the scene and nothing Mayor Schmidt would do would detract from them! Are you volunteering at the VA? Either way, good for you!

OK speaking by observation, I'm going to say the endearing Diana with the wicked humor is back!!! I think you are recovered from the virus that robbed your holidays. Your hero's roses are pretty, be it one or a zillion roses they speak of love and thanks for sharing your pretty in pink Valentine's flowers. Love your photos and adore you.

Oh, just look at those beautiful girls on the front cover!!! So cool! Love the pics! You know, a friend of mine started "volunteering" at the local library two days a week a few years ago. Then they asked her to fill in for someone on maternity leave, then they asked her to work three days a week, and now she's a full time paid employee! Lol!

So much washing it reminds me of my son and daughter in law visits they have all their work clothes here as they rent out their Sydney home and when they are down here there is always something to do over there.
Those shoes are my favourite so comfortable.
That would be Sweet Cheeks.

If you are a sucker for working an extra day at the VA - I could think of worse things to be called, Diana! Your hero got you some lovely flowers. I'm sure their scent evened out the odor of the laundry waiting for you. : ) That is a really cute picture of Sweet Cheeks and I think the sneakers make that shot. I wondered if there were any more modeling gigs.

It looks as though you had a great vacation! So glad you got to come home to flowers, laundry not so much. That is a never ending task!

I could think of worse things to be called to do, but working an extra day, can't be all that bad. Just think of your paycheck! :-)

I'm glad you are doing better and are out and about putting smiles on everyone's faces!

Have a lovely weekend and I hope it's warm in your neck of the woods. They are calling for a dump of snow here in Colorado.

Hugs,
Amy

I can almost smell those roses. So sweet. I don't think I've ever seen a Christmas cactus blooming like that before. Don't wear yourself out at the VA hospital, but I bet you are enjoying every minute of it. Your girls are practically celebrities!

Diana, glad you made it home safe and sound but not to that mountain (I tried to strike it out and enter molehill instead) of laundry but we'll just leave it at mountain. What a darling pic of SweetCheeks. What is up with that Christmas Cactus???? and they know a good thing when they see it at that VA hospital..Happy Weekend..Judy

Pretty roses! And I used to have Christmas cacti, too. I'm not good with houseplants but they seemed to grow and bloom quite well for me...the shoe circle reminds me of many a picture I've seen of that same circle, but made out of Irish dance shoes! (My daughter is an Irish dancer!) Glad you're feeling better. Have a great weekend!

My Christmas Cactus is forming flowers too. Poor plant took a tumbel on the floor a month ago thanks to my tyrant kittie Teddy! I'm just glad it's still alive (the plant that is- he's lucky to still be alive)! The roses were a beautiful shade of pink- smart man especially with a load of laundry like that waiting (haha)! The grandgirls are so cute- you are blessed to have such a nice family! Have a great weekend!

That is such a pretty flowering Christmas cactus. I have two that I inherited from my mom and neither one bloomed this year. I think our move in August was hard on them. I hope they'll bloom next year.
