A Bit Of Halloween In The Family Room

I do quite a bit of
FALL DECORATING
but not so much for Halloween.
We don't get any
Trick-or-Treaters
where we live.

I usually go in town and enjoy all
the HALLOWEEN DECORATING my
daughter does at her house.

On Halloween night I go
door-to-door with the grandkids.
That will change this year, too,
because they have moved
out into the wilds country.
sniff-sniff

So, I will content myself with
bits and pieces of
Halloween here and will show you
just one little corner of our
family room.

I painted this years ago when
my kids were little.
It's propped against my
CHRISTMAS CACTUS.
That's kind of a joke in itself, isn't it?
Halloween/Christmas- get it?
Nevermind....

It sits on a trunk in the corner.
I park most of my inside plants here
for the winter.
The little old runner is there to protect
the top of the trunk from water damage.

I love this old trunk.
I have had it for about 15 years.
Love the corner detail, too.
Speaking of trunks and Fall!
Look what I found at the base of
another tree.
Is that cool, or what?
I told you it was cool!!!
You KNOW it is a FAIRY HOUSE, right?
I fell into a prone position to take a photo
of what was INSIDE this tree.
YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT!
HONEST!  You won't BELIEVE IT!!!!
Let's look through that hole!
Ready?
Is that the cutest little fairy house
you've ever seen?
Didn't I get a great shot
of the inside of that tree?
What do you mean
YOU DON"T BELIEVE ME????

Well, as SweetCheeks would say....
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTT!

If you haven't signed up for my
giveaway yet-you still have time.
Miss SweetCheeks will do the drawing
on November 1st.

I love your painting, Diana! So cute. I was going to say that tree would be the perfect spot to make a fairy house. That little "doorway" is perfect.

What a beautiful painting, Diana! I love it! I also love your trunk.

I am not at all surprised you have fairies living in your tree. You have those fairy holes inside your house, so why not outside too? :)

What a cute Halloween painting! You area lady of many talents, Diana! that trunk is right up my alley. I used to have Christmas cacti for years. They were one of my mom's favorite plants. Aren't they pretty when they bloom? Have a great day!

I liked your painting. Other than stick figures, I'm not much of an artist. Oh and that fairy house was too cute. I got a kick out of that... :)

I wish I could have seen you down on your knees looking at the base of the tree.....lol!

Wow! I'm so impressed with that little fairy house you were able to capture! (LOL) I didn't know you were such a good artist. Your picture is very nice. We get less and less trick or treaters every year as our subdivision ages. All the kids are growing up! Also, we live towards the back of the subdivision so that makes a difference too. Some kids tucker out as they get closer to the back and they just turn around before they reach our house. This will be the first year that I won't have any kids going trick or treating. My youngest is 13 now and has decided to call it quits.

I didn't realize you were an artist! I love that Halloween painting! My mom is a pretty good artist too, but the apple definitely falls VERY far from the tree, because I'm still drawing stick figures. Lol! Love your fairy door! So glad they let you capture the inside too. ;)

Love the picture you painted, is it of your children? So sorry that you won't be going trick or treating with the kids. We hardly get any, due to the mean things that people do to children.. Most of the kids go to the malls or church. I maybe get 10 to 12 kids and none on our street.
you should drive to your daughters, spend the night and go with the girls.
Have a good one.

Such a cute Halloween painting!!!

And Oh, a Faerie House in a tree, on your property. Yessssss!!!!!

I love the way your imagination took you away. We all need to let our imaginations do that, now and then. _Lots_ of now's and then's. Why not? There is plenty of icky-ness in this world. Let's seek out Joy!!! :-)

Happy rest of October...

I love your painting, Diana - the expression on the little tiger's face is priceless! Your trunk is very special and I would love to see what you have stored inside! ha ha! I have a wicker one and it is so full of junk! I really need to clean it out. The tree trunk is really fun - oh, I enjoyed a good laugh with this one! Seriously, though, that fairy house is amazing! xo Karen

Oooo, that tree is cool, and I'm wondering why it is split in half like that? I love that you think the fairies live there haha. Diana, I really like that picture you painted. It's perfect for Halloween. I'm like you, and I don't really decorate for Halloween - more for Fall. Jess would love that old trunk, as she collects them.

love,

Your painting is darling. Love the trunk too;. I just gave our daughter my husband's mom's old trunk. She is redoing it. Can't wait to see the finished project.

We will have children from the complex this year, since we live in a gated community. They trust me, so I can handout homemade goodies. Looking forward to making some fun treats or cookies.

That tree truck screamed fairy house to me. Kind of makes you want to put a little door there at the base and hang a fairy crossing sign. I love your imagination! Your Halloween painting is charming, it looks perfect propped against the Christmas cactus.
