The End Of A Long Hot Day

It has been hot here.
Crazy Hot!
We have broken all records
with our heat this year.

We've been working on
emptying the garage...
Kinda scary, huh?
I'll show you the
AFTER pictures in a day or so.

Anyway,
we suffer as we work
outside in the blistering heat.
However,
evening bring us this.
and this...
and this....
The peace and quiet settles in.
 MyHero and I relax
a bit and watch the sun set.
Nothing mars the evening
save the call of the gulls
and the hum of the last fishing
boats headed for port.
Wait.
Wait....
Wait.......
WHAT IS THAT
TAPPING SOUND?
Ahh....must be the magic
dancing fairies coming out
Nothing like a magic fairy
to catch the last fleeting
rays of sunlight, is there?

Do you suppose a
gin and tonic would
silence those shoes?;>)

What a gorgeous sunset, a reward for all of your hard work.
Depends who has the G&T really, if SweetCheeks starts on them.......

You are a brave lady to tackle the garage this summer!! Beautiful photo's, it
s still to hot to sit outside here even in the night

What a gorgeous view, Diana! I'm sure it is wonderful to sit and take that in after a hard day of cleaning out the garage. : ) I was up super early today {for some pre-menopausal reason, I'm sure} and put the news on ~ 82 degrees at 5:45 a.m. and it's only going up from there!

You do have a divine view of the lake and sunset. I seriously feel like we've been transplanted to AZ this summer. Crazy.

Diana, What a beautiful sunset.:) We have had many record breaking days of heat here in Indiana also. Please try to do your work in the early hours of the day before the heat comes up. Dance fairy dance !
Gotta love those dancing feet, she's Irish you know, she may take up riverdancing.:):)xo, Susie

What a beautiful view.
Come clean out my garage, your's looks quite empty compared to mine. I've got cabinet doors, tile, and other building stuff stacked everywhere.

Diana, it is so hot here also! I can imagine how hot was inside the garage. I spent all morning outside yesterday mowing and cleaning the front yard and, for a minute there, I didn't think I was going to make it! LOL The sunset is gorgeous!!! Your are so lucky to live next to the water!

You would miss the sound of those shoes if you silenced them :) You have such a beautiful view! Where I am, I never see sunset or sunrise because of all the trees. I have to drive to finish a day like that.

When I first saw the picture of the piled up furniture, I thought, "Wow, she's let those grandchildren go crazy this time!"

I have convinced myself that my hot garage is a dangerous place to be this summer-
as in-
Do Not Enter!

My advice?
Enjoy the tapping shoes, the sunset, and the gin and tonic!

When you are done cleaning out your garage, can you come over here and help me clean out my house. I'm getting ready for a pre-kids-come-home-from-camp mega purge and I'm dreading it!

Have a great day Diana

You have a gorgeous view to unwind with. I'm going to have to tackle the garage this fall. I'm not crazy enough to do it in the blazing heat of summer.

Hubby and I just said last night that we would love to be on a lake. So, I guess that means that we are moving in with you, he he.
Tired of the stinkin hot for sure. We are getting a little rain today.....every little bit helps.
Good luck with that garage. Looks like alot of treasures in there.

What a gorgeous sunset! And I think the magic fairy is the perfect touch to the end of the day. :-)

Our garage seems to stay in a mess! I won't clean it by myself though since most of it is not my mess! Ha! It is so hot to be working in a stuffy garage, but how good it will feel when you get it done! Love that sunset picture. Is that your view?!

Ruth Kelly said...

It won't be long before she has outgrown those shoes and no more taping. They grow so fast.

Cottage and Broome said...

Better make it a double on the G & T, I remember shoes like that on my daughter!!!! Thanks for popping by, Laura

If those feet weren't tapping you'd wish they were. I know. My kids just left! I have had Grace & Olivia since Saturday and I'm tired, I need to rest and there is work that didn't get done while they were here that I need to catch up on. But - I already miss my girls. I began missing them before they got out of the driveway. How silly is that? But - I will catch the work up so when I get to have them again, I can shove it all aside and enjoy!

Donna said...

My oh my, Diana,

Even on a sweltering day, a view like this takes all memory of how hot and uncomfortable we may have been earlier away - and the tapping of the dancing fairies is just a cherry on top of the Sundae of Life!

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Blessings,
Donna

Oh yes, the fairies always dance at night. That sunset is worth all the heat one can stand. The garage looks like there might be a treasure or two hiding in there. Hope it cools down soon. We were in the high 80's today, just nice.
