Pinky Clean Birthday

What does
THIS have to do with
a birthday?
Do you know that
my three little
granddaughters have
ANOTHER
Grandmother?
Yes.They.Do.

Her name is Gramma G.
It's her birthday.
She is a
VERY YOUNG 75!
As you can see, she
loves our little
SweetCheeks, too.
She is a
VERY TALENTED
artist and has won
many, many awards
in her career.

So....what do you get
for someone that doesn't
NEED anything?
Well, I figure she gets
DIRTY painting!
So....How about a little
Homemade
PINKY CLEAN
soap?

Here-
for those of you that
missed it before
is my recipe
for
PINKY CLEAN
soap.

I use a clean and dry
sink to mix it in.
It is big enough to hold
a whole batch.
I start with the Borax.
It has always hardened
in the box so I crush it up
with my "masher"
(this also makes a good
husband basher if he acts up)
Next, I grate the
ZOTE soap into the borax
and mix it thoroughly.
Looks purty, huh?
Mix thoroughly then add
Arm & Hammer washing soda.
Mix and add
Arm & Hammer Baking Soda.

Mix and add OxiClean
Mix and add Crystal Fabric Softener.
Pour into a pretty container.
Add a label-I made my own
and covered it with
Clear Contact Paper.
Add 1 measuring spoon/1T

Recipe:
Pinky Clean Laundry Soap & Softener
1 (4 lb 12 oz) Box of Borax- Found in the detergent aisle
1 (3 lb 7 oz) Box of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda- Found in the detergent aisle
1 (3 lb) Container of OxyClean- Found in the detergent aisle. (This is optional but I highly recommend adding it)
2 (14.1 oz) Bars of Zote Soap- Found in the detergent aisle OR in the aisle with Mexican foods-I know Woodmans has Zote. (I chose to do pink for the heavenly scent but the white would be just fine. You can also use Fels Naptha or Ivory Bar Soap)
1 Lg Box (4 lb) of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda- Usually found in the cooking aisle
1 (55 oz) Bottle of Purex Crystals Fabric Softener- Found in the detergent-This is NOT a liquid fabric softener)
Cost?  6 or 7 cents per load!!!!!

So, Happy Birthday,
Gramma G.
Anyone that loves
SweetCheeks and Sisters
is a friend of mine.
Now....
This guy is looking for a clean shirt.
Should I send him over
to
help fold your laundry?
Wouldn't THAT be
THE BEST BIRTHDAY
of present of all?

Happy Birthday to Gramma G! I wanna be an Artist too when I grow up!
So before, you posted a photo of Guido, and now today, some Calvin Klein dude. Can't you find someone in the middle? Seriously, this kid remind me of one of my boys and that's freaking me out a bit!
I think I'm getting old.

Happy Birthday to Gramma G!! I hope it is one of the best days of her life.

I could use some help folding my laundry. Just saying. :-)

I bet Gramma G loved her gift, what a great idea! I am loving the label you made (oh, and your "laundry helper", too, tee hee!!). Thanks so much for the recipe, I can't wait to try it. Sounds like it makes a huge batch! What do you store such a large quantity in? Hope you have a great day!

Happy Birthday Gramma G! I hope you enjoy your pinky clean soap! I really should try to make some of this stuff. I use Tide Pods and they're quite expensive - but easy to measure and super convenient.

You are so sweet. Happy birthday to another grandma. We grandmas have to stick together. That soap sounds like it would clean anything!

I thought at first you were going to mix hand soap, or bath soap - you know, 'artist' 'cleaning up' - until I saw the first couple of ingredients, first I said, "Note to self, this doesn't look good for Gramma G!" Especially when the Oxy came out, then I realized it was for the washing machine! Pretty inexpensive laundry soap, Nana! May have to try some of this soap!

Have a great day, Diana!
Hugs,
Donna

I have been making my own laundry soap for quite some time now. I ran out of my Zote and had to use the Naptha instead. It's yellow. Didn't like that at all. So now I am on a mission to find it again. May have to order online. I love my homemade pinky soap. And a happy happy birthday to the other G. xoxo

Happy day to Gramma G!
I'd like some pinky soap, D.
I'm just too lazy to make it.
I think you got your boy toy to do it for you. ;)

Diana, please send that shirtless guy to me instead..Oh wait, I'm afraid my 'hunny' might be a little upset, so keep him there.

What a clever idea, Diana. I have heard of people making their own soap, but never met anyone who did until now. No wonder SweetCheeks is so special - she has so many people who love her. I hope Gramma G. likes her gift. Oh, and he can do my laundry any time.

You are so funny!! If he could really go to our house, he'd be busy for quite a few weeks, I'm thinkin'! When I made this recipe I chopped the Zote soap up in the blender. I like your idea - I'll have to try that.
