Nana-You Tired ME Out

Wouldn't you think
it would be the other way around?
That I would be the one complaining
about being exhausted?
When I dropped the girls off
at home, Ria told me that
I had tired her out!

Well,
we spent 3 days at the
lake shore.
We started out in the
hotel pool.
We have not had rain all summer.
Guess what?
It rained! And rained!
On Day 2
we had 5 or 6 clear weather hours.
We headed for the beach.
When we arrived
there was no one there.
Then the waves started
rolling in and the girls
jumped the waves for
A LONG TIME.
After showering and
changing clothes we
headed to the restaurant for
a bite to eat.
The girls got a kiddy cocktail.
SweetCheeks eyeballed
her cherries to make sure
she had the same amount
as the BIG GIRLS had.
Sometimes I wish I drank....
Fresh baked bread hot from the oven,
and the view from our table
made it a perfect meal.
How do you like your
vacation so far,
SweetCheeks?
Did I mention I wish I drank?
It was crazy & hectic,
there were a couple of
"meltdowns", and
a couple of mini-dramas~
but you know what it
made it all worthwhile?
The girls waited in the hall
while I grabbed one last thing
from the room.
When I closed the door behind me
I saw this~
Doesn't that make your
heart smile?
And, as Lulu says...
Now it's a tradition, Nana.
We have to do this every year.
SweetCheeks added...
Yeah...until yohu are too olhd.
I feel the liver spots coming on now.

Diana, I truly love your pictures of the girls. Take me back to the time my own were small. Oh I understand that wanting a drink...I feel hair pulling works..I just don't want to be bald.LOL. Smiles, xo, Susie

Now you know why I keep an almost empty bottle in my room...I sniff it and pretend.

Great pics and great job wearing down the young'uns! You do have to do it every year, liver spots are no excuse as long as you have a forever young spot in your heart.

The pictures are wonderful. The last one reminds me of a picture my sis gave me shortly before she passed away. It was of 3 girls, their arms around each other to represent her, my younger sister and me.
I would print that photo and have it framed for 'your girls.'

They are so sweet, Diana! I know you wouldn't miss all this for the world {although a drink would probably help with the mini-dramas}! : ) You reminded me that my kids used to order Shirley Temples when we would go out to a restaurant. They loved getting the cherries {there were always a few}.

Sounds like a great tradition. I still remember my weekends with my grandparents. A very special time. I am sure mine wished that they had drunk, too.

Have mercy! Sweet Cheeks is never going to let you forget you are getting old. As is that's something we need to be reminded of. I can FEEL how old I am getting when I crawl out of bed in the morning. I don't think I'd ever need another reminder. *lol*

Hi, I think this vacation will become the first of many. What a fun time and like you I need more caffeine when I've around my grands. Love the pics-so cute, especially with their arms around each other. Have a restful day today.

That last shot is gorgeous. You should get it enlarged and framed. It looks like you had a lot of fun, and it is pretty cool that you wear the grandkids out. I think it will be many years yet before 'yohu are too olhd!'
