Putting the FUN in FUNdraiser

My three little granddaughters
go to Parochial school.
And, because they don't get
public funding
they do a huge fundraiser
every year.
My daughter, TPot, headed
THE FUNDRAISER
up this year.
She is a smart, sweet,
get-it-done
kinda gal.
As you can see,
she likes her Starbucks, too!
When I walked into the
school I could
NOT BELIEVE
the transformation!
Holy Cow!
I mean WOW!

 There was a
smoking dragon at the entrance
He's not smoking here but
once they added the dry ice he
was a sight to behold.
The halls were lined with
white lighted tubes
and hanging lanterns.
There were tables set up for silent bids..
There was a
Tour Of The World
food court area.
A Wine Auction Area
(Look at all the art work behind it)
The main floor setup at night was magical.
There was also a booth in
the back.
You paid $15.00 and got a
Chinese take out box
guaranteed to be worth anywhere
from $10 on up.
ONE BOX
held a Pandora's bracelet.
Now I will tell you that
this is the booth
that MyHero and I worked.
We hawked those boxes
like nobody's business.

Well, I didn't win any of the
SILENT auction items
 I bid on.
MyHero dogged my heels
wanting to know
HOW MUCH ARE YOU
BIDDING ON THAT?
Soon you will know why
THAT is funny.

I left before the oral auction
started and didn't know if
I had won any of the silent bids.

MyHero however outbid
everyone for a
Brewer's Box Seat-
the best in the house-
food included.
I won't tell you what he paid
for it but let's just say
that he should have
KEPT SILENT!
I suppose
The Devil made him do it!

The moral of this story is
Never leave a man alone
with a credit card or a checkbook
if there is a sports event
involved.

Well, at least it'll keep the kids
in school one more year!
And..all I wanted was a
flipping cloche for $30!

PS- Don't forget to sign up for the
BLOVE giveaway here.
Winner will be chosen on
St. Patrick's Day!

That looks like an amazing event! Sorry you didn't get the cloche... you should have used your Hero's bidding technique :)

Diana, What a fun time you and hero must have had.Yes,you are so right about, not leaving the checkbook with the man. Their budget minds are not like ours. LOL But as you said it's for the kids and school. I want a cloche too. Smiles, xo, Susie(She Junks)

Wow!! Kudos to your daughter.
The place looks amazing! & having worked those many years for my own kids, I know how much work is involved.
And your Hero will be taking you along to the ball game?? :)

WOW Diana your daughter did an awesome job putting that all together! Believe me I know how much work they are. My 3 kids are in Catholic school and this weekend I am hosting a doll's tea party in "Ireland". I choose that theme being it's on St.Patricks Day. This is my first year hosting it. I hope your daughters was a BIG success!!

I love those school fundraisers when so many talented ladies come together to create such a beautiful evening. This one was certainly very well thought out. I think it's wonderful you and your hubby helped out too! Your St.Patty's table setting for one is fabulous too by the way. It's always fun to play and you did it so well. I love the real clovers and your china is quite pretty and unique. I've never seen this pattern before either. Lovely and yummy looking tablescape!

Man, that school went all out with their "fun"draiser. And your girls looks so cute. My kids had to wear plaid. I think I would have kept them their had they been allowed to wear khaki.

My husband can be so dangerous at those silent auctions. He acts like he just won the lottery. At least it was for a good cause.
My computer is not working right. I could see the first picture of the cute girls and your cute picture. Cuteness runs in the family.

Your granddaughters should be proud that their grandfather singlehandedly funded their school for the year, Diana! : ) I'll bet he was thrilled to win that auction though. Your daughter did a great job organizing the event. It looks like it was a of fun while raising some money!

such a good time you had,, what a wonderful cause.
At least the money he spent went to a wonderful end.The cloche would have been lovely, go buy one and put a geranium in it.you deserve it.

What a great job decorating....that dragon is absolutely wonderful!

It looks so impressive, and I bet it was a lot of fun.
I like the way the men always question what we spend! One night I wanted a takeaway and husband said it was too expensive, so went to the supermarket instead. He came back with a television that was on special offer and too good to miss!

Oh too cute and funny about hubby and the Brewers. What your daughter did was amazing. I bet she is exhausted. Hope you raised loads of money.

Major kudos to your daughter Diana. That's quite an undertaking!!! And she did an amazing job. (I used to do events...small ones...and I know the work behind them.) Congratulations on your booth too. What fun! In answer to your question ...nope the burlap wasn't itchy or smelly at all. It was totally different than the kind in the store or the old bags. xoxo

I wasn't signed in this morning and almost forgot to come back and mouth off.
You know, that girl of yours is amazing. It all looks wonderful. I think she did an outstanding job.
And you know you can't take John anywhere like that! I would so make him pay for that with a shopping spree after you hit starbucks first for gogo juice.

Now girl, you did go out and buy yourself a cloche, didn't you? It'd be more than $30 bucks, too! Mine would fit a cake under and tall enough for a bottle of wine, heavy enough for me to call my Sweetie each and every time I needed to move it! he he he!!

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Hugs,
Donna

Wow! What a great job on the decor! Looks like so much fun- even if you lost all your auctions. Take Sweet Cheeks out for Starbuck's and cake pops and add a little side trip for a new cloche or two. You earned it! ;)

Make certain to include a protective display screen simply to be really risk-free particularly when you have little ones around. An upright cleaner will be suited best to a home with a lot of carpeted floors, whereas a compact or hand - held cleaner will work best in a smaller appartment. Keeping the humidity in your home between 30-50% also limits electric shock around computers and other electronics, which can cause serious damage. Dishwashers are now a familiar feature in many kitchens and are seen as a convenient and time saving appliance.
