I Got A Good Start on THE PROJECT- NOT

You remember that yesterday
was the day to work on the
pile in the garage?
I got the pile uncovered..
Yes. I. Did.

Remember I promised to
work on that pile..and paint..and recover?
Remember that?
Well, it didn't happen.

I was ready.
I was truly ready.
I was willing.
I was truly willing.
And..
I was able...
I was truly able.

So- What happened?
Well, it started like this.
I got my coffee at Starbucks
and the newspaper.
Here's a funny tidbit most people
don't know about me.

I pull around to the old abandoned
KMart parking lot
and sit and read my paper and
drink my coffee.
It is one place I don't look around
and feel guilty like I should be
DOING SOMETHING.
Sometimes I even read a book there.

But THIS morning..
as I am enjoying my moment of
peace and quiet.
I hear a car
s.n.e.a.k up beside me.
I feel like someone is
LOOKING AT ME!
Huh?
Found!
I am found and I wasn't even lost!

Their MOM went through Starbucks
and they are on their way to school.
Yesterday no one in their house felt well.
They all stayed home from school.
That doesn't happen very often.
This one had strep throat~
I think THESE two just wanted to stay
home and watch movies...
Hey! Mom!  You sure do look pretty this morning..
It is NOT nice to say Shut Up to your Mother!
Nice cup!
(As a side note when my brother found out I was
wearing a bra he called me CUPS for two years-
He's lucky he's alive to read the story)

Anyway, I pull in my drive and get out
to start working on
THE PROJECT
The phone rings and it is
Cup-In-The-Face.
I don't feel good-can you pick
SweetCheeks up from KittyGarden?

Ummm...Yeah...guess I can...
I find her room..
Empty...
Oh..My!
Is it The Rapture?
Are all the innocents gone?
There are a few reminders left behind...
and I heed this one.
Here they come.
They have been outside in the fresh air
and sunshine.
Soon...
We are home and so far we have
had a busy day..watching SnowWhite
And I heard such words of wisdom
fall from those sweet lips.
Nana..Dihdju knohw that baby bohys haff weeners?
Really?
Seriouslhy! BabyE hass onhe and it will fahll off when
he turhns three!
Really?
Seriouslhy, Nana! I readed it!
Wow!  Hope I can get a copy of
THAT book.  It is bound to be a
priceless edition.
(I'm gonna let her Mama handle THAT one)

Any other questions you'd like her
to answer about boyhs
while she's got the book out?
Anyone?
Anyone?

Hello Diana,
You've got me laughing in my coffee already this morning! Sweet Cheeks is going to find out one of these days that it won't fall off! LOL!
I have a solution for your garage. I'll come out and take some of it off your hands!

Love that you find peace and quiet in the parking lot! LOL!

hugs

Oh I love the one about the baby boy weiners falling off! She is a hoot, that little girl!
I sneak into to parking lots to read and have coffee too!
Your right, no guilt there!

That is too funny and I totally get the hiding place! Mine is at the beach where I will go park during the off season and read, hardly anyone is there and it is peaceful!
I think I need a copy of that book too!! LOL!!

I;m sure that book is out of print, so please scan and copy that page for me!

I didn't spew coffee, only because mine wasn't ready when I read that, it is hysterical, and yes, I'd let mom handle those comments....

That's too funny. You will have some good stories to tell at her wedding. I hope that weener thing isn't true.

My kids didn't call them weiners. They called them pee-pee spouts. Why? Because when my son was a newborn I was playing with my daughter and singing The Itsy Bitsy Spider and I guess she had water spouts on her mind. Then - we went to the sink to bathe the baby. She stood on a chair beside the sink to help. And he peed. Immediately she giggled and said, "Look Mommy, he's got a little pee pee spout!" And it's been pee pee spout ever since.
My kids did use the word weenie, though. A weenie was a wimp... or a whiney baby. *lol*

So funny Diana! My daughter and kids would do the same!
I should let my husband see the picture of your "stuff" maybe he would quit being a WEINER about mine. Of course mine isn't all piled into one area, it's all spread out.:)

Hiding in a parking lot...good choice. Must have had morning hair...and you were found.
Nana duties always come first, so tell hubby that when he has his hands on his hips wondering why his car won't fit in the garage yet.
You think cups can handle that conversation? She couldn't handle the camera yesterday morning and you are going to send SC to her for advice on boys. ok...sounds like a plan.
Glad it's not my job!

You and Sweet Cheeks are just the best! I look forward to drinking coffee with you every morning... only I'm at my keyboard, and your hiding out in vacant lots. I must find that book SC's been reading, one needs to stay up to date on the new science of anatomy!

Oh Sweet Cheeks.....yep, mom needs to handle that one. So funny.

My, my, my! I don't know which is funnier: the thought of you sitting alone in the Kmart parking lot, the kiddos pulling up next to you, OR, Sweetcheeks book revelations! Guess I should add your thrift shop, ooops, I mean "garage" to the list! haha! Maybe you could ask SC why boys act as nutty as they do!!!

Hilarious! My daughter told my son that she had a pee-pee too but it just hadn't started growing yet. Is that in the book? And seriously LOL about the "cups"! Ahhh...nothing like a little brotherly love. :-)

She is SUCH a riot!! I remember thinking a lot of strange things like that when I was much older than Sweet Cheeks!!

I envy you for finding your quiet little spot behind KMart. I wouldn't dare park behind mine with the windows down, not even in the front lot!! lol!

You will get to your piles eventually...take some of the pressure off. It's a good feeling to get things done, but a better feeling to just relax on a day off. And BTW, you are not much older than me!!! ;-D

XO,
Jane

Oh this is such a funny post. I hear ya...trying to get something accomplished...nothing goes the way it should...but I thought I would fall off the chair with the Rapture comment....and that book...well, it should be a top seller by now!! No wonder we don't get men...we didn't read the book in Kindergarden!!

Lordy, Lordy, That Sweet Cheeks! I am so glad you are chronicling this. When she is a teen, you are gonna have sooooo much on her.
The Weeener story reminded of my,now 23 yr old grandson. His family consisted of Mom, Dad and one brother. When he found out Mommy didn't have a weener he started crying. Saying, Mommy, me and Phify aka Timothy and daddy have weeners. I am so sorry you don't got one. I have had fun with that one on several occassions.
Just keep recording these.
Love it, Hugs, Ginger
