Southern Living Outside Dining

I love it when my
arrives.

I usually pick up the mail
at the end of our long drive
before I head down to the house
and my heart does a little
pitty-pat extra when
 is languishing in my mailbox.

I usually set it aside to
peruse at a later date
when I have the time to
savor it.
What is it about
Southern Living
that so appeals to me?

It is the thought that
SOMEDAY
I might, once again,
live in
The South...
and I can say y'all and
not feel like a Northerner saying
Y'all,
And I might slip and say
Y'all come back now, you heah?

Sigh-
Maybe I COULD move South~
But how could I get all
those grandkids into my trunk without
their parents missing them?

So..I look...and I dream...
And..today while I was
LOOKING
and
DREAMING

I happened upon
Page 33.

And turning the page
I saw this...

Now
THAT, folks,
is alfresco dining at its best!

I love it!
Love the chandelier
hanging over the table.

Love the place setting
and napkins...

And look at these hydrangeas,
and Polo roses,
captured inside a  round
block of florist's foam
wrapped with English Ivy.

I want to dine like this..
outside-while the
Midwestern sun is setting.
Hmmmm...
Maybe a little project to do
while I am off work for a few days?

I'll just add that to the
other
5,280  things I have
to do on my days off.
5,280-
A MILE OF THINGS
TO DO!
Did you KNOW there
were 5,280' in a mile?
No?
Then consider that your
lesson of the day-
free-
from me to you...
And, as a way to repay me,
could you please
send me that
chandelier?

Okay...don't get all
cranky...
It was just a thought-

Have a  great Friday
and
SMILE..
the people coming towards
you will be glad you did!

I'm a southern girl, and I actually dropped my subscription. They carry it at the local library, and so, I get to read it there. Love the addition of Eddie Ross's column.

Love that setting, too. Well, you need to do a place outside that looks like that. Glad you have a few days off. You need it to recharge.
The babies are restless, so off I go.

Beautiful, and romantic.

Enjoy your time off, and don't work too hard.

Those pictures were probably taken somewhere in the north! *lol* It's too windy in the south for pretty things to stay on the table. Come on... get realistic..... you know tablecloths have to be clamped down. And that chandilier would make a nice wind chime.

I think if I sat at that table, I'd never get up! *sigh*

The rose centerpiece makes my heart melt.

I love Southern Living too and I live in the desert.

Thank you for stopping by to vote for my sister. I really appreciate your time.

You really need to do that chandelier. I'm sure my husband would think I'm nuts if I asked him to hang a chandelier outside, but your hubby worships the ground you walk on so it should be no problem!

Hi Diana
Well I know very little about the south. I lived in OK for one year and have visited Texas
But I dream of vacationing someday in those states with moss hanging from the trees and those old plantation homes right out of the Eugenia Price stories.
I love "Midwest Living" magazine. I suppose because I'm so familar with the areas that are usually featured and am more likely to visit
since I travel that way alot.
Thanks for letting me know how many feet are in a mile. Next time my husband harasses me about not walking far enough I'll break it down into feet for him!
Blessings and have a great weekend!

My favorite magazine for years. Neat that so many people all over love it as well.
I also was swooning over that setting. Not in Savannah, too hot.
It you put that in your yard your next post would be about Sweet Cheeks swinging from the light through the trees. What is sweetness up to these days? When does school start?

I went to visit and see your Miracle Makeover post but you turned the comments off so I am leaving one here. :) Now, I don't want you to get jealous but I do live in the South and I do have a chandelier hanging in a tree and I do say y'all but I never say "y'all come back ya hear?" LOL...I think they say that in the mountains. If you are ever ever down this way I would love to serve you lunch under the dogwood tree and the chandelier with hydrangeas and roses on the table. xoxo
