SweetCheeks Has A Boy Friend~

Remember I told you
I would post a bit more
about Ria's recital?
I said it would be
something about
SweetCheeks at the recital.
Well, I am good as my word.

SweetCheeks was sitting
patiently, in a warm room,
a bit bored but happy,
waiting for her sister to
start dancing.

All of a sudden she started to
smile...
A BIG SMILE.

Why are you smiling?

Thass mhy bouyfrend!
It is?
Yep!  Dohn't tell him though.
Don't worry-
WE WON'T.

She listened raptly to
his every word.
And gazed at him adoringly...
Remember when you were
YOUNG and IN LOVE?
Yep!
His words fell on her ears like
pearls..
Which made it all the more
disappointing when we
told her he
COULD NOT
be her
BOYFRIEND!

Why noht? She asked
ever so sadly.
Well, because you are
TOO LITTLE
to have a boyfriend..
but MOST OF ALL
because he is your
FIRST COUSIN!

Yeah..Yeah,..
I know there are some states that
might allow that...
Ain't never gonna happen here!
Amen!

Aw, she is probably dealing with a broken heart, now.

Spoilsport, she will have a million of them before she settles on just one...
It is frowned upon even in the deep south, and I adored my cousin when I was just about her age....

awww...she does look in love! While in Buffalo, my sisters boyfriends daughter had a mad crush on Alex my older son. It was so cute and funny to watch.

Oh no! I can imagine her fluttering her eyelashes now. At least she picked a cutie...cousin or not.

LOL- poor child! Oh, and you would have to go and break her little heart. Oh well, there will be plenty of others coming her way in the next several years to keep her gooshy inside!
Have a great day!

yikes, i didnt see that comin!!!!! oh dear!!!! i wonder if he had any idea! its so funny how when they are little they just kind of decide who their girlfriends (in my boys` cases) are and kind of forget to tell them!! And arent the kids getting obsessed a little with the whole boyfriend/girlfriend thing? when i was little i was too scared even to talk to boys but now, all the little girls at school are always talking about so and so is my boyf... sigh... they all want to grow up so fast, and now i will shut up as i realise how much i am sounding like my mother!!!

Oh no, and they looked so cute together--what a bummer!! I actually knew a couple who were first cousins, had 3 children, and were married for over 65 years. They were from another country where there were no rules about that...Kind of interesting, don't you think?

I hope you have a great weekend!! And YES, I sing while I create! LOL

On but Nana, it's so dang hard to wait until you're 16. But, tell her I once knew 1st cousins that married and their kids turned out to be midgets. Sweetcheecks cousin is sure cute though and not bad to practice that adorable flirt on. I think you may have to watch out for that one!

Sweet Cheeks does definitely have "the look of love" in her pretty eyes!...One of my nephews is a blonde, curly headed guy with a GREAT personality and all the little girls in our family have at one time or another been in love with him. It's always such a disappointment when they figure out they can't "love" their cousin. Sweet & innocent.

OH too funny!!! What a handsome boy though! I don't blame her for liking him.

This is a great story! My late FIL was born in Arkansas. He always laughed about marrin cuzinz etc. Joking of course! Well, long story short my youngest son had some speech therapy issues and such and we have to attend these meetings. When Nick was small his nephew Colton is three years younger the school shrink asked Nick about who lived with him. He was in the 2nd grade and told this crazy story about his sisters cousin and living with his nephew! Wellll....at the meeting consisting of a room full of highly educated ladies and my Sweets and I he clarified the story and said "We ain't from Arkansas." The laughter said it best and we all laughed as they heard about our five kids and the story behind each one! Hugs Anne
